I am reminded of a young guy and a true 'couldabeen' in Mark Orval. He came back too early from a fractured bone in the foot and suffered stress fractures for the rest of his short, injury riddled career.

The efforts to rush Pendlebury back reek of desperation and could backfire on us big time. A player of his quality should never be rushed back from such an injury. He should be nowhere near a training track let alone an AFL game.

Will we ever learn?

Malthouse stated that he only plays 100% fit players, so Pendlebury surely will be a "late change".

If not, the odds are stacked on him being an "early casualty" after a few testing tackles from Rooke and co. :p

Really can't see it, just too big a roll of the dice.

When you "tackle" a leg it's called a trip, and worth a free kick or 50 meters. Do it all you like. :D

Do you honestly think a professional sporting club employing professional doctors/surgens for their sportspeople would risk the wellbeing of one of their employees if he was still vulnerable?

If he wasn't up for it, he wouldn't be playing. Surely if the doctors have declared him right to play then there is no question that there is no more risk to that injury then any other injury he could sustain (touch wood he doesn't!)

He is in no more danger of getting an injury than any other player out there.

Ridicolous statement. FRACTURES DO NOT HEAL IN 2 WEEKS!!!! I've said it a couple of times on the main board but it usually takes approx 12 weeks for a bone cell to repair itself. However, the cells don't need to be fully healed to play on.

Fancy statement, but in this case I think they are "risking the wellfare of one of their employess". Assuming the worst that can happen is exacerbating the fracture (yes, the fracture is still there. It doesn't magically disappear because a couple of pins were put in there) you would assume that he may be out for a couple of months. He may miss a bit of pre-season but nothing too serious. No doubt the docs would have told Pendles about this and kudos to Pendles for offering to play with it.

As for the impact that him going down could have on the team. It's up to the medico's to determine whether they think the pins will hold up. They'll see how he's moving at training and determine whether he's up to it. The Collingwood media are always going to say that he's fine if he's a chance to play.

Definite increased risk of Pendle's playing this week, hopefully he holds up:thumbsu:

Highly doubt Pendles will play.

Regardless of how he trains, it must surely have more to do with how he feels the next day.

Personally I would rather see him miss if there is any doubt on him at all.

Was it Hacksaw Jim Duggan or was it Bob Orton in the WWF who had a cast on his forearm, they played with broken bones so pendles can too:D.

If Pendles plays it would have been a very minor crack to his fibula. To hazard a guess he will not play. Inclusions likely to be Fraser and Beams.

Hutchy is seriously just a tabloid piece of crap.

Sensationalises everything, talks more shit than he craps from his arse.

They should play the Benny Hill music next time he walks onto the Footy Show set.
