Was interesting to watch him calve the Eagles mids up and make them look silly but I also notice him going on his Right Foot and using it more and more Effective. Looks like he's been working on it and looks quite good but if Defenders don't what side he will kick on would make him even more dangerous to play on:thumbsu:

Just an all round gun Dave. Skills, smarts, leadership qualities, good table manners, sound upringing, reads plenty of books etc etc.

I have not seen anyone mention Cheesey using both feet last night.
I'm sure he did or maybe I'm hallucinating.

He's Pendles, depending on the opposition player he has either 0,2,4,8 or just a blur when it comes to the number of legs he has.

He's become so evasive, he surely has to be taking the nickname "the ghost" from now on. :D

Well, the Eagles mids would look a bit silly calving Dave but I know what you mean. And he'll make a lot more look like silly cows too. From memory though, he's always been comfortanly dual-sided.

I actually think Pendles' greatest asset is his sheer deceptiveness. He seldom looks much more than a merely competent player, once or twice a game perhaps he does something a bit flashy, but mostly he doesn't look intimidating or magical and hyper-fast or anything much at all really. He just consistently makes the right decisions. It shows just how important brains are.

I have a friend (Hawks supporter) who thinks he is one of the most proficient users of his 'wrong' foot in the team.

Pendlebury has always been dual sided. His right foot kick isn't as good as his left and he can stuff it up a bit, but he'll still use it, which gives him even more time and space and makes him even harder to tackle.

This year I want to see him really grab hold of the ball and control our midfield. I don't think he'll ever be that damaging (not a long kick) like a Hodge is but his asset is his point guard like play where he always finds the right option and actually dictates where teammates run to. I think a way he could be more damaging is to get ahead of the play a bit more, he's a bit too reliant on getting the ball behind the play as a linkman or from a stoppage, I'd like to see him get forward and pump some balls inside 50.

Yeah there was an article about it last year I think and how people assumed he had an injury and was not using his 'preferred' foot.

If O'Bree was dual sided on the weekend then the only surprise would be that he was using his preferred foot. Funny thing is I don't know know whether he is right or left-footed.

Pendlebury has been dual sided before, but he has never had the amount of confidence in his right boot as he did against the Eagles.

It has improved as well, even if it was useable in previous seasons.

I was under the impression he was right footed but didn't use it because of some problem:confused: I did notice that nice pass on the right foot to a leading fwd though.

I agree I would love Pendles not just take our Midfield and Control it but I would like to see him Dominate games.

I have said during the Pre-Season that I would like him to drive long balls into the Forward 50 and Just don't have short passes or handball to set someone else up. When he has the best disposal then he should do it

I think you're right. O'Bree was using his left or non-preferred foot a lot last year.

I've never really noticed Pendles being too one-sided. I thought he had always been pretty good of either foot. When you can create as much space as Pendles can you might as well go on to your preferred though!

He's been using both feet for as long as I can remember.
Should've probably just chosen one side and developed it to an acceptable standard.

I was under the impression that for the majority of last season he was kicking exclusively on his wrong foot. This leading to speculation ha was carrying some kind of injury. Am I incorrect in this statement?

No you're not. It's what Skade and I have been thinking of. I can't remember if it was a newspaper article or something on the CFC website but there was definitely something written about O'Bree using his opposite foot.

Well if your worried about him not delivering any inside 50's fear not. He had the most out of any player on saturday night.
That is good to see that he actually used the long kick into the Forward line more

This may be a big year for Pendles. If he keeps playing like that, he may become the club's number 1 mid, and therefore would be subject to taggers. I would doubt whether he has ever been legitimately tagged before in his life. It would be an interesting challenge.

I thought his game was sensational on the weekend, but if he is to reach elite status in the competition, he needs more hurt factor. That would mean he would need to get a little longer with his disposal. Turn all his 20-30 metre kicks into 40-50 metre kicks and he would be a force. He goes short far too often to be considered to have a high enough hurt factor to be elite in my opinion.

But, hey, he is only 21...
