Here is a great new band, that plays an excellent type of techno, or "drum and base" music.

They are tipped to be the next prodigy. These guys are going to be big.

The great thing about these guys is that they are Australian! They originally were from Perth, but moved to england since they couldnt get real farin australia. Lets support great australian music.

If you are intersting in testing this band, my suggestion is that you download the song "Tarantula"

Saw them (him?) at Brown Alley late last year - my first D&B gig and I had a great time. I strongly suggest listening to "Fasten Your Seatbelts" - even if you don't like that sort of music, that song is highly addictive.

I wouldn't rely on cd albums if you're looking to find good drum n bass..... The only way is to get a nice turntable and buy vinyl 12"s. Not many drum n bass artists release cd albums (or anything on cd for that matter) ..... and nearly all of the great tunes can only really be picked up on 12" vinyl. Find some good places to download mp3 mixes of tunes (or listen to drum n bass radio shows), and then buy the tunes you like. (I can point people in the right direction if they're interested...)

It sounds like a hassle to go down the vinyl path, but it's completely neccessary if you're into, or getting into, drum n bass. (or most dance music really, but certainly drum n bass in particular)

And although there's a hell of a lot of average drum n bass released every day, some of it is amongst the best, most creative, and well engineered/produced music in the world today.

And yeah, Pendulum are cool.........a bit cheesy at times, but damn the boys have got some production skills! And some nice fat tunes! Doing Australia proud all over the world too. :thumbsu:

I'm still upset that i couldn't see them last Saturday night at the HiFi........ (did you end up going Fritz?) .....apparently El Hornet (the dj who came out) tore the place up too..... :(

I went on Sunday (when it wasn't quite so rammed) at the Mercat Cross. I took a few people to their first Drum n Bass gig and they all went silly for it.

I'm going to Shy FX on Friday at Brown Alley ( I think). It's only 20 bucks and the awesome Skibidee MC is there aswell. People should really get along and see these fellas for a taste. Whats 20 bucks anyway?

They turn up every couple of months anyway :) people are just starting to notice a bit more now they are bigger etc.

Yeah.... it's a shame that people only listen to music that is force fed to them. :thumbsd:

I saw them (I think it was Speed who came out) at Revolver last August or so........and then El Hornet did a show at Brown Alley in December too. (missed that one though :( )

They'll be back out soon enough.

It's certainly nice to see an Aussie Drum & Bass act bringin' it to the masses!

Big Footy (and the world!) needs more Drum & Bass and less crap. :thumbsu:

I wish pendulum would release their 2002/03/04 songs on a cd..they are the best but only available on individual vinyls

Then buy a turntable! :thumbsu:

99% of music I buy these days is on vinyl.
