Often we hear of teams struggling for numbers, sometimes each week. Often theres a club or clubs in each comp short of 18 players. Conversely, clubs have guys sit out games due to excess numbers. This happens in all levels of the AFLQ.

If having a kick is the main goal of every player, and a full side for both teams at each match being the ideal, wouldn't it be in everyones best interest to have a weekly pool of players nominate as available to permit, for the coming week? The list gets wiped after each weekend and players re register for a permit weekly. Keeping the existing rules of amount of permits per season, and division level one can play?

Also, Clubs should register each week on players required to fill up a team. The league then allocates players to suitable clubs and divisions for the weekend.

Some clubs have arrangements with other clubs already, but its far from the best or ideal solution. Having pools of team vacancies, and also players available each week to potentially fill those vacancies, would be much more efficient way of keeping clubs competitive, and giving players a kick?
