I, for the life of me, cannot understand why Perrie is even playing AFL football. He has been driving me nuts for years.

There were two occasions during the Brisbane game wherein Perrie made monumental mistakes, and IMO lost us the game, and I'm being deadly serious.

No1 - 3rd Quarter - The Crows are on a roll. Perrie drifts back to take a strong grab on our half back line, only to play on with some handball over his head type thing into the knees of other players, effectively halting our 3 goal comeback, and putting the game back into the control of the Lions. You ****wit. For me, that was the turning point of the match.

No2 - Perrie turned up.

Perrie has got some strong hands and I have seen him take some great pack marks, but let's face, he is as thick as a brick with two planks on either side.

He definately cannot play defence, highlighted again when he followed Lynch up the ground, and then forgot about his man and decided to chase after the ball along the wing. Very Good Ian, unfortunately your man has run back to the goalsquare and is now on his own. Oh would u look at that. You are not a crumber, and the Lions have picked up the ball and booted it straight to your man. Easy goal Brisbane.

GET RID OF HIM !!!!

My advice to Perrie is straight out of an old Western movie.

"go west, young man, go west"

Trade him with Freo for Croad (key back man)

or

Trade him with West Coast for Seaby (young ruckman)

I agree that Perrie has played some excellent games for us this year (Fremantle, Melbourne, Geelong, Brisbane etc) but god almighty was he given an opportunity or what. A lot of luck when Sarge's way. Once Stevens and Carey went down with injuries and Welsh still out injured, Perrie was the only option for a key forward position. You will all remember that Rutten had broken a thumb and has missed some 6-7 games.

Fact is, if someone like Rutten was given as much chance as Perrie, he would have had as much success as Perrie.

Perrie has played 22 games this season for a return of 26 goals 16 behinds. Now those are not great numbers for a bloke that has been the go to guy for majority of the season.

He has a good pair of hands but too often drops easiest of chest marks. Rutten has as good if not better pair of hands. Just needs a yard of pace.

I suspect the answers are:

Scarlett - untouchable, best full back in the comp

Yep, if we lost Scarlett we would be screwed. We only have three players capable of playing as a KP defender on our list.

McCarthy - plays the same position as Perrie but is younger and with more scope for improvement, so its an unlikely swap

I wouldn't do it. McCarthy has only played a handful of good games, well games full stop, and has big question marks over his kicking but if we traded him and he came good what a farce that would be. Unsuccessfully search for a key forward for 6 years and then trade him from under our noses.

Any interest in Playfair? I reckon he will end up out in the cold. Behind Chambers in the ruck, McCarthy up forward and we have Mark Blake on the way as well. Not too mention Lonergan and whoever we get via trade.
