A little birdie told me last night that Ronaldson and......wait for it..........Axel Dench are nearly a done deal for Perth next season.

Where does that leave Rogers? he must be going elsewhere...

I like the Dench scenario - young, strong, nice in the post and a future Boomers regular, he will replace the void left by Vlahov quite nicely.;)

No way, I've got it on very good authority from the Bigfooty basketball board guru :p that Rogers is not leaving Perth for Adelaide. :)

Dench is a good player, it's a pity he's soft as sh*t and prefers to take the 3 point shot than mix it with the big boys. But hey, I could be wrong. Either way, a combo of Rogers and Dench would be tough to stop. :)

I heard that despite intense interest from Perth (thats right Jod), Ronaldson will sign with the Kings, basically because a) its closer to Melbourne and b) his agent is Grant Cadee, the GM of the Kings

And I thought The Bear may have been signed by a team capable of winning a championship.

Instead he'll be going to a team that has underachieved more than us.

I never said that Perth werent interested...im sure they were, the fact is, I wasnt and never will be. I cant stand Ronaldson, he is overweight, slow, cant rebound and does nothing contructive apart from sitting at the top of the key and trying to hit threes. Im just glad he looks like going elsewhere.

On Rogers...just before people start thinking im an insider or something...must clear this up. Ant you said you have it on good authority from me? Well its not like im in the loop, i have no idea if he will go back to Adelaide. The reason im so sure that he wont go is that he seems really happy in Perth, he lives with his best mate James Harvey and Andrew Vlahov and Luc Longley are not dumbasses. They would have to the stupidest owners in the world to lose Rogers. I am very confident he will stay for the simple fact that i dont think Perth are that stupid.

And as of a few minutes ago has signed a 3 year contract with the Perth Wildcats. :D

Sorry, that was kind of tongue in cheek Jod. :)

He will probably stay in Perth and now with the new boom recruit in Ronaldson I reckon the Wildcats have the cattle to make a run at the finals :) :p

F*ck....you kidding me. Stupid Wildcats...we need a rebounder, a big 4....We have Rogers and then a bunch of 3's small type players like Feaster, Harvey, Thompson....unless Neil Mottram steps up i think we will have to sigh another import.

Bloody hell....****ing Ronaldson of all people...  :(

New Captain Grace re-signs with the Wildcats

Star BankWest Wildcats guard Ricky Grace has re-signed with the team in a deal that is expected to see the four-time NBL champion finish his career at the club where it all began in 1990.
Grace has signed a three-year deal and been awarded the role of team captain following the retirement of former skipper and club co-owner Andrew Vlahov.

Having not missed the playoffs since his arrival in the West, Grace is happy to be a Wildcat for another three seasons.

“I am happy to announce I am staying in Perth for the remainder of my NBL career”, said Grace. The fans and owners have been fantastic to me over the years and I truly wanted to play out my whole career in this city.”

Grace takes over as captain from Andrew Vlahov who led the club a record equalling 302 times, the same as the clubs only other designated leader, Mike Ellis.

“Being awarded the captaincy is a great honour and I certainly have some big shoes to fill. I look forward to the challenge.”

Excellent!!! Grace no doubt asumes the captaincy and we have secured him for the rest of his career! Now all we need is to secure Rogers and grab a PF from America and we will be set to win it all next season!

I think it was a joke. Ronaldson won't even sign for another two weeks (apparently).

No on the back page of the paper....Ronaldson has signed   and to add to my dismay, a very promising young bigman in Mottram has buggered off to the Titans!

****er!!

Now we are in serious need of some height and rebounding..

Rogers = choker

Did anyone watch Paul Rogers in the last month as a Wildcat!?

All culminating in a DISMAL performance against West Sydney in a game 2 at home which we should've won. He played like absolute SHYTE, So bad infact, that at the game near the end as it was still in the balance, I still remember people around me cringing every time he got the ball. "Don't give it to him!"

He'd get the ball near the arc, dribble around like an idiot for years, run the shot clock down and put up a stupid low percentage shot.

He can go for all I care. He should've dominated West Sydney. He did nothing. He's not worth the money he'll be paid in Adelaide, and we can use the capspace elsewhere.

I'm not a huge fan of Ronaldson, nor the fact that these things mean we have few big men and no interior D. We'll still be competitive.... if we can get a good big man with Rogers money, perhaps George Banks?

I'd be happy with
Banks
Ronaldson
Feaster
Harvey
Grace

I think the Cats did well considering the fact that we practically didn't have Harvey all season.

And who's going to start in the middle?

Banks ain't no centre, and Ronaldson is as soft as they come.

That starting 5 would finish in the bottom 3.

but he is still the best bigman in the league and if we lose him then we will be in all sorts of trouble!

Your forgetting a guy who had considerably more points, rebounds and lead his team to a higher position on the ladder while grabbing an MVP.

And I hope Rogers stays at Perth, if he goes to the 36ers we are all playing for second

Rogers has officially gone to Adelaide, so you'll never hear Jod calling him the best big man again.

From know on he'll be known as a dud.

Perth finished second on the ladder...Melbourne didnt finish first so your wrong on that point. Anyways its only my opinion. I believe Rogers is the best big man in the comp, other ppl think its Bradtke.
