New patch out today. Sorts out a lot of the issues and just from a few games online can tell that it improves the game loads

Also has anyone joined myPES on facebook? Gives an extra 300k per game on MLO but doesn't seem to be working for me.

Nah, so much better. 1v1 is pretty tricky now and they go for the ball not the man when you call them out. Still a couple of WTF moments but thats football and a quirk that makes PES the game it is (as long as it doesn't happen all the time).

Finally got this last night, spent much of today finding, downloading and installing a decent OF. I used the one that Covvy posted on here for the BLES01407 or whatever it was. Haven't actually played a game yet, but I've installed patches, data packs and option files.

Now I'll actually see how the game plays!

Played maybe 30 matches, and just now starting to appreciate the game. Defending can still get a bit frustrating, but once you've adapted to the pace and slickness of the game it's a very rewarding experience. Feel genuinely excited every time you score a goal.

This is what makes the game for me, plus each goal feels unique. Could never really feel this with FIFA.

Yep, magnificent game. Exactly what I was hoping for, and so far has been a far more enjoyable experience than FIFA.

I've switched to Fifa now, sick already of waiting so long for an option file where I can play ML. PES is probably a slightly better game, but Fifa has licensing, more teams and the better manager mode.

Finally got this game on PC.
Penalties are much easier than 2011 which is a relief and dribbling is also made a lot easier.

The focus this year is firmly on the pillars of individuality and full control, and promises to give football fans an "unprecedented level of control".

The myriad changes and tweaks are being grouped under three headings:

PES FullControl: players will be giving greater freedom over ball control and the way players receive and trap the ball has been improved. For the first time players will be given the option to take manual control over their shots. Dribbling speed has been slowed to keep it more realistic, but using R2 will allow players to add "various styles to their close control".

Player ID: Players are more recognisable in PES 2013, having signature attributes, skills and tricks. The intention is to make individual players feel unique and easily identifiable on the pitch. This also extends to the behaviour of goal keepers.

ProActive AI: PES 2013 promises to balance games even more. Teams will have greater organisation in defence and attack, and will respond more quickly when they gain or lose possession.

Is this worth getting now? I want to try something different to FIFA... what's the online mode like? I'm not really interested in career mode.
