Looks really good, an improved ML is definitely a big plus.

Is the manager mode any good in PES? Understand the teams all have funky names and they don't have as many leagues, but how does it compare with FIFA Career mode?

I kinda treat it like FIFA. After a while I can pretty much sign who I want.

The sums are way off though, 30-35m is an expensive transfer. With that, you obviously have less money too. And you can only negotiate with five players at a time lol.

Your players have chemistry, and their ratings drop if played out of position.

Having said all that though, the gameplay blows FIFA out of the water.

I think you can download PES Lite from the PS Store to get a feel of the game.

I think PES 2019 might even be free on Xbox Games Pass, so might give that a crack. Getting a bit bored of FIFA's Manager Mode so was hoping for a different experience. Will be fun managing the South Yorkshire Blues

There is probably a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, you realise how good and how much better it is compared to FIFA.

Where FIFA excels is how great its menus are etc. PES is still stuck in 2003, I cannot fault FIFA's presentation. PES are so far behind the 8-ball it isn't funny.

Looks like PES may have rebuilt the menus, going by internet feedback on this years version, so hopefully that's a good thing. Will see how I go. Cheers mate

Demo is out today. Anybody had a whirl yet?
I'm downloading it at the moment. Have enjoyed previous PES demos as the gameplay is more technical.

Ehhhhhh it’s okay

Shooting and goalkeeping feels like the women’s World Cup

Preordered today to get the MyClub stuff but keen for some ML too.

Didn't buy last year's so pretty keen. I got Fifa on the cheap and the depth was great but the gameplay doesn't compare.

Usually a Fifa man but a certain event turned me to pre order pes this year instead.

Played a couple of games and the gameplay seems much better than fifa. Seems more reliant on clever passing rather than cheesing speed and skill moves in fifa.

Presentation though...

Also skipping replays is so annoying. There’s this one second delay for some reason every time you skip. It’s much smoother in Fifa.

Definitely worth picking up?

Haven’t played it enough yet or at a high enough difficulty to make a definitive call but so far I think I’m going to enjoy it allot more than fifa.

I also really like the option to have different formations through the offensive and defensive phase. You could kind of to that in Fifa by messing around with player instructions but in PES you can actually do it properly. Haven’t explored all the tactical options yet but they look better than Fifa’s from a quick glance.

Fifa really pissed me off last year because the amount of scripted goals you seem to concede where you can’t do anything about it and as a Juve fan I appreciate the ability to be able to keep a clean sheet. The problem seemed most prelevant in two legged games where the ai does its best to make sure the game goes into extra time. So far all the goals I’ve conceded in PES is off the back of my poor defending.

FIFA you could switch formations fluently last year, based on your mentality, I thought that was a great addition.

Interesting. The more I hear about PES, the more enticing it seems to pick it up, and I think I will get it.

Do you know if you can play MyClub without a PS Subscription?
