Dissecting a frozen rat? Wouldn't it be pretty messy (all those cells that would have burst when the ice crystals formed on freezing)?

Sorry, I didn't think I would have to mention that it had been defrosted first.:D

The fact that it was frozen (and defrosted) and not freshly killed that day meant it's heart had stopped beating. Bummer, eh.

Just that all the dissections I've ever done have been fresh ones (hearts beating, muscles twitching and all) so I was wondering if freezing and thawing does anything weird to the tissues...

Hook, line, sinker.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but I don't think rabbits have wings. Have a closer look at the "dinner" photos...

Looked like rabbit pieces to me. I looked at it again after having read your post. Could be the power of suggestion, but now I'm not sure. It depends on how big the skillet actually is. The two smaller parts are in proportion to the larger piece as far as it goes with rabbit hind legs and torso. I could be wrong too.

My take was that the guy was BSing anyway, and is thoroughly enjoying the hate mail he received.

Peace,

More than likely... ever seen Bonsai Kitten? Now that's some funny ****! People are so gullible they thought it was real.

Lighten up Mantis, at least it wasn't something like a dog or cat, something that you do not eat. :)

That's irrelevant, given that the animal in question is (or in this case, was) a pet. I can't see why one species is "right" to eat, and the other isn't. Each to their own I guess, but I have been to China before and yes, I have tasted cat and dog. Rabbits are just as domesticated as cats and dogs (albeit more recently than the other two).

Cremation is too inhumane so he skinned it, chopped it up, fried the sh|t out of it and chowed down.

If this is real than this person is very strange. If it's an attempt at humour than they are screwed in the head.

Tell me, how is it inhumane to cremate a pet that had already been deceased? If it's an attempt at humour, then you at least know this person doesn't have the capacity to do such a thing in reality. I've heard sicker jokes than this, trust me. This is nothing.

Thinking about it, I'd rather be eaten than buried or cremated. At least my dead body would give some enjoyment. But I'd like to choose how...........maybe spit roasted ar a large casserole with plenty of wine and mushrooms in it. Or Frodo en Croute

Most true (in relation to my quoted post). My reasoning was indeed in relations to the whole domesticated pet thing. Since it was in a western country, i personally am not too fussed over the eating of rabbit. The folks at PETA would probably disagree with me though.

Ah, yes... PETA. The radical, animal-rights group who compared battery chickens to that of the Jews in death camps during the Holocaust. Some ARAs are understandable and correct, whilst groups like these are just full of over-zealous idiots who think milk isn't good for you.

Thrawn, I am not a fan of PETA, some of their ideas are good, but some are totally wrong.

BSL though, is the dogs holocaust.

Bonsai Kitten

You mean it's not real??!?

So if someone tried it at home it wouldn't really work? ... ah, be right back ...

Just got back from Vietnam where a guide (a Mekong man) was explaining to my 12yr old daughter and I why you should eat your pets.
It helps them in reincarnation, if you love them you should really love them really and help them on there way. He said he never had any long term pets except for when his dog had 7 pups and he befreinded the runt cause he knew it would last longer.
And it's good how Asians dont waste and eat every scrap of their animals.

I guess there is always a new way to learn to recycle.

Not my bag to shove the dog off yet but still...

Very interesting..
