This is Peter Faulks:

Key Defender Peter Faulks last week signed with the Williamstown Football Club.

Faulks, who was drafted in the 2006 National Draft at pick 65 from the Calder Cannons to the Sydney Swans, has had a close relationship with new Williamstown Senior Coach Peter German, as they are both products of the Oak Park Football Club.

Joining the Casey Scorpions in 2009, Faulks had an outstanding VFL debut season which resulted in him finishing second in the Scorpions Best and Fairest.

The 21 year old, 195cm key defender played on the best key forwards in the competition including Aaron Edwards and Matthew Little in 2009 and will be a great addition to the Williamstown line up.

195cm, 21yo key defender. Outstanding VFL season. Second in the scorpions B&F.

The Scorpions would have been devastated to lose a natural leader and last year's runner-up in the club's best-and-fairest. Faulks has slotted nicely into the Seagulls' line-up as a tall defender, mainly used at centre half-back on speedy lead-up forwards, but capable of playing at full-back on the bigger-bodied players.

Nice.

I second that

I saw the update on facebook and didn't have a clue

finishing 2nd in a VFL clubs B&F as a 22 y.o. sounds okay - better than a 17 y.o. who hasn't played a senior game in terms of development and maturity I guess

and sticking with the mature age recruit approach - means the list isn't clogged with 17/18 y.o. who could be hit or miss players :)

I trust harves

Edit: he also looks flipping solid, which means he might slot right it and may even bulk up more over the off-season

Blurt :)

Skinny defender who was listed with the Sydney Swans at one stage. Has come across from Casey Scorpions F.C this season and has been a revelation. Being named in the bests in 7 of his 15 games with a best on ground in the round 14 win against Northern Bullants. He has also managed to get forward and boot two goals, not bad for a full back. Not sure he is big enough to play as a key defender in the AFL, but he could potentially be a third tall defender in the mould of a Brett Thornton.

Apparently our recruiters have been seen at Williamstown games for a while now, so we've obviously had our eye on him for much of the season. Injuries hampered his time at Sydney, but it seems like he is over that now and has put together a good couple of seasons.

Cost us essentially nothing, and we get a key defender to work with. Got to be happy with that.

From the article Chris 25 posted.

I don't understand, he's 195cm?

Ummm guys, he was second in Scorpions B & F in 2009.

He played this year for Williamstown. He was fullback in the VFL team of the year for 2010. Equal 3rd in Seagulls B & F.

This looks like one of those semi-inspired, "he might not be star but he'll sure hold his end up" choices we have been making lately.

Nickname must be Columbo!!
Sounds a nice size and will add to backline depth. Here is hopwing pick 25 from Collingwood eventuates for Taz

A least we didn't waste the pick of Griffen - maybe pick 70 odd for him I hope

Will be next seasons Barlow.

Was sensational all year at VFL level. Bit of a light frame but will add a lot to your defence.

Whoever's in charge of recruiting at Freo is doing a great job.
