In the Footy Show's celebration of the 60s, they showed footage of the 1963 Grand Final. They showed a player wearing number 1 for the Hawks, it was Peter Lyon, Gary's dad ... and Gary never even mentioned it!!! I just found it a little strange.

Hairy boy does like the hawks and always talks them up..
Even though he does talk some crap, I always get the feeling that he really likes the hawks..
maybe that's why because his Dad played for us..

He loved the hawks growing up, obviously supported them because of hid dad, so he will always have a soft spot for us.

I can remember when Gary was interviewed in the press he said Hawthorn showed NO INTEREST in him and he has no feeling for HFC.

Why I started the thread is because if I was running a show like that, and my dad played a handful of games for Carlton, I would have made a point of telling the audience, "Hey, there's my dad". The audience would have been interested in something like that, but instead the miserable sod just let it pass. I really don't know how to handle Gary Lyon, he's a wierd cat.

Lyon really loves the club massive soft spot. Not sure if loves Mitchell so much but loves the club loves Clarko.
