Has passed away age 59. Very sad news.
It is indeed. I remember when he first came on the scene some suggested (perhaps optimistically) that he could be the best English footballer since Duncan Edwards. But then he broke his leg in a league cup game (from memory at Blackpool) and by his own admission he was never quite as good again. Mind you playing for England in the World Cup finals indicates he was still fairly good. He was latterly a match day host at the Bridge until he has a falling out with Ken Bates (surprise surprise) and was sacked. One of the first things Abramovich did in taking over was re-instate Ossie. Surprisingly no tribute in the report, from Ian Hutchinson?

Very sad news. Don't know so much about his playing career but Chelsea supporters have always raved about him.

Was on the TV a fair bit in recent years, and was a real personality.

And well done to the moron who got the minutes silence cut short last night.
