Could be going somewhat hard on him, first game back from a long term injury maybe i could cut him some slack.. however i wont, because i considered that already.
Too many times he kicked blindly, a torpedo from 90 metres out into literally an empty 50 (only port players near it) and it wasnt the only time he had brain snaps. Blind kicks under no where near as much pressure as he thought he was under.
When he did kick to(wards) a target, the ball traveled as far high as it did long.

IMO, he cant play outside the 50, hes a decent mark.. good shot at goal and that is the only role he can play for us. I actually rate him as a good forward, perhaps this post is having a shot at where he was played more so than his game. If hes to be playing in our team, its as a lead up forward who needs to put on forward pressure otherwise im afraid its delist at the end of the year. (IN MY OPINION)

Same with you Cubzy, have been disappointed with him in recent years.

Something about him though on the weekend, got a lot of ball but always prepared to attack. Yes, he did kick blindly on a few occassions, but was prepared to attack.

Wasn't the worst thats for sure, but a promising sign that he got some ball, first game back, he'll adjust to AFL level again. At the moment, a player like him is what we need - he just has to be prepared to get that hard ball, and if he can poach a couple of goals then all the better.

Good to see Petts back, i just want to see him not go missing like he did too many times last year.

thought he had a fairly solid game, should have swallowed that sitter of a mark he dropped that would have been a set shot I50..but wasnt the only one to drop marks yesterday...certainly earnt his spot next week

KICK IT BACKWARDS . What had happend was that the richmond players were too lazy to track back, (Except for nahas) cause tan hasnt showed them how to play a zone. Petts was simply showing tan how to beat the rolling zone

he is not the answer going forwad and in someways he typifies our footy club.
A in between player, never played well in a big game, selfish and is only worried about himself.
Should of been delisted last year and now should be dropped. Dont give him a chance to keep his spot on the list.

Yep, good old Patto and Polak have kicked many a big bag of goals over the years.

Why did you mention them kicking a bag of goals. They never have and probably never will. Heck, they didn't need to kick any goals. Just have a presence and help the 6 small forwards we had in.

We just needed blokes to fly and make a contest something Schulz and Cleve Hughes aren't capable of. Pettifer is a good medium sized fwd (kicked mid to high 30's 3 times)at 184cm but was made our #1 target in his first game off a knee reconstruction. I reckon some size down there might have helped. Agree???

I thought he was reasonable against Port Adelaide. He dropped a sitter but besides Surjan most players were dropping them left, right and centre. Probably our most reliable shot for goal (besides Browny) and has a bit of passion about him which I like.

I wouldn't regard him near our best 22 but he is a handy depth player.
