Until he returns to form, yes. And by the time that happens he'll probably be considered too old.

Hasn't been in much form over the last year or two. Was pretty unlucky to be dropped when he was from the Australian team as he performed very well in his brief international career. But surely he won't be considered for international cricket considering the push towards youth. Be a massive contradiction for the selectors to pick him after Katich has been dropped. We should be looking at the trio of Hughes, Marsh and Khawaja as our next openers, but I think they'll pencil in Hughes for a long period of time.

He will need a Katich-esque season to be even considered again and even then that will probably not be enough.

Only way he will wear the baggygreen again is if we have a heap of injuries. He is just so woeful in the field as well as not having been in form for a long time. Time to just play younger blokes and have faith they will come good.

 

[Bomber Bears]

He's really not that bad in the field, that was another genius selection move to drop a player after they scored runs. He was very unfortunate to get injured when he did, but he hasnt been the same batsmen since then. He has a couple of decent games this year but thats about it.

Heard he doesnt get along with Punter as well, so that hasnt helped his chances

Not in the running for NSW opener slot but then we've had other players not in the NSW best 11 elevated to test colours, like hughes, roberston and hauritz
