Must be tough for Buss seeing all these debuts of players younger than him šŸ˜ž
Has to be close soon. Surely just team structure/ mix keeping him out at present (buss). Very keen to see hynes have a crack though. If I recall, the main question was in his tank? But looks a natural footballer from what I have seen so far

1942, I wonder what the movie was? Or maybe young Charles was entertaining a young lady! šŸ¤”
There was a 1942 movie called ā€œThere’s One Born Every Minuteā€.

Sounds like an expression Charlie would latch onto.

Unfortunately Hynes wasn't quite ready but we are typically reluctant to only bring a player in for one game.

3 disposals and 2 turnovers is an absolute omission

Hynes wasn’t able to get in the game, hardly saw him around play but when he did have it something good happened. 1 goal assist, 2 score involvements from 3 touches. Not a bad strike rate. Just needed to get it abit more.

Tough game first up - would love him to play the saints.

I wouldn’t mind him playing against the saints it’s not like Dolan had a great 1st game

Let's be honest, there aren't many 18-19yo first gamers who are a net positive to the side the first time they run out. You have to blood them at some point but it can be 5-10 games before they are genuine contributors.

I'd argue Josh Dolan, as promising as he seems, is still a player we are carrying. It may be that way for quite a while yet.

Our characteristic propensity to quickly switch off our players is on display here. I'd give Hynes at least one more game this time around. That was a tough first-up gig, playing the reigning premiers on a uniquely narrow ground in a state he's never been to before. Expect him to do considerably better against the Saints. Only if there's no noticeable improvement would I be sending him back to the VFL to work on his game, having the benefit of two senior games to reflect on.

Clarke played half a gave for five clangers, started shit with Sicily, and got subbed off. Actively detrimental rather than Hynes who just kind of took up space.
Probably the worse debut I’ve seen.

I recall Jamarra having a nothing debut, but he kicked 3 goals the week after. Also that debut was funny as hell because the crowd went nuts whenever the ball was kicked within five meters of him.

Yeah I've never seen a player bring as many fans to Marvel as young Charlie did that day
Seemed to be two bays full of just his friends/family

Kid had a poor game but I’ve got faith. Hard body and good skills, just needs time to adjust and improve.

I’m surprised by some saying we are carrying Dolan, he’s shown more than enough than the likes of Arty jones. Dolan is a footballer who will make it. Hynes shows a bit, but maybe more vfl time is needed for him.

Dolan will be a jet small forward in time.
