the nicknames thread seems to have disappeared so i will post the nickname for the bachelor i think suits him

in his pic, the one and only one i have seen of him, he reminds me of a splattered pancake. so its either pancake or splat

I think reason we drafted him besides him been a future gun is for him to play the same role Deledio played this year so Deledio can go back into the midfield.

Not an issue, I read in an article he was in the top 3 fastest players at the Stingrays and with guys like Treloar and Benbow in the team thats a pretty good achievement.

Hi guys

Really impressed you guys pulled shot gun on Jake at pick 30, can't believe these nufties had him down at picks 100 - odd in their phantom drafts.

Have seen a bit of Jake over the past few years, debut in the senior team as a 15 year old and was somewhat of a late bloomer. Was in and out of their development squads right up until last pre season where he really cemented himself in the squad.

In terms of who he plays like, Sam Gilbert/sam Fisher is the perfect way to describe him. Is a very good reader of the play which allows him to get into positions to take marks from opposition kicks, he has a beautiful long left footed kick on him which is certainly a feature of his game and will use it to great effect.

Pace wise you mentioned earlier, he is reasonably quick and was in the top 10% at Dandenong this year (not sure on the exact number he was ranked).

Overall, he was probably thee biggest bolter of this years draft for sure, in 18 months he has come from seemingly no where to now being a second round draft pick.

One last thing, the kid will not shirk a contest, have played against some of those Frankston Bombers teams and they breed them tough down there, so he will be well set for senior football sooner rather than later.

Hope that helps a little bit, any other questions, fire away?

An Essendon supporter giving praise to one of our young kids .... :D

Thanks for the info, really like this kid I think he would be earmarked to take Lids spot of HB therefore allowing Lids to play more up the ground, Mid/Forward.

Also whats his endurance like?

Havent really seen him play midfield, even with Stingrays guns Hallahan, Parker injured late in the year, they opted for younger kids like Gent and Benbow in the guts.

At Frankston he was far to small to be able to play midfield, so hardly saw any midfield time in him.

Mad Tiger

I think he could grow a little bit more, but I wouldnt be holding my breath, was a shrimp 2 years ago, but really shot up in the past 18 months or so, so it could be a possibility.
