Competitions Pick the Result for the Hawthorn Game

Rules:

1. You predict a winner and a margin.

Example: Essendon by 13 points.

2. You predict the type of game it will be, very generally.

Example: "Will be close for most of the game, but Essendon will get on top and make it safe in the last quarter", or "The Dons will get off to a flyer and keep it steady at a safe margin for the rest of the game without it being a thrashing".

3. I will keep a table of everyone's predictions and the results, and will score each round as follows:

+1 point for picking the winner.
-1 point for picking the loser.
+2 point for getting within 15 points of the margin (including picking the wrong winner)
+1 points for getting the closest to the margin.
+1 point for getting the margin exactly.
+3 points if you describe the game most accurately.

You don't have to predict the type of game it will be if you don't want to, it's just for bonus points.

All tips must be in before the game starts, obviously.

Close game early with one side to kick away after half time. Flashes of brilliance but an otherwise poor quality game.

Bombers to start quickly and open up a five or six goal lead.

Second and third quarters to be relatively even, before Bombers pull further away in the last.

Hurley to kick 5 and Zaka to kick three or four.

We will jump them early..get out to a 5 goal lead, Hawks barely eat into that lead and going into last quarter with 24 point lead and then finish it off with a nice last quarter to extend it and put it beyond doubt.

Jetta and Davey to apply more pressure than ten tonne of bricks. Hurley to get 8.

Very early struggle, lots of turnovers with exciting to watch goals from the indigenous boys. After half time the Hawks get the better of us, with Cyril and their midefield getting on top.

Essendon to come out firing with Hawthorn controlling the 2nd and 3rd quarter but not putting it on the score board. Essendon run out the game strongly.

Hawthorn by 30. Buddy to get 6. Thats what should happen on paper. But you do have the wood on the Hawks so it could be the total opposite.

Hawks by 32 points. Essendon start strong, game levels out in second quarter. Hawks play well in the premiership (3rd) quarter get a lead on the Dons and kick away in the last.
