Pick Your Forward

I've seen some interesting comments recently that have led me to a conclusion (that for the moment I'll keep to myself).

So I'm interested in getting a bit of a group think going on a selection of key forwards from the last twenty years or so.

Of the listed players, pick your three best forwards!

I chose buddy, roo, and lloyd. Those 3 were the clear stand outs for me. You could probably make an argument for Tredrea and Richo as well.

The others closest to the mark for me were Richo and Tredrea.

Tony Modra all day. Had a relatively short career and dominated during his playing days.

Daicos could be the best forward pocket player ever.

That's one hell of a list of champion forwards, but went with Lloyd, Riewoldt and Franklin without hesitation.

Daicos was tempting but his best work was as a midfielder. Modra didn't do it for long enough. Richo is the biggest what could have been without the knee.

Godra for the spectacular, Daics for the freak and Tredders as the contested marking gorilla.

Tredrea is often overlooked in discussion of the post-Carey CHFs.

Personally I think he's substantially better than Brown.

I have three distinct levels:

Absolute best: Lloyd, Franklin

Contention for the 3rd spot: Modra, Brown, Tredrea, Riewoldt, Richardson, Pavlich

Great players but not at the level above: the rest

Went with Rooey for the third spot due to his longevity and is finishing his career better than Brown and Pav.

Buddy, Lloyd and Roo. It is hard to split Tredrea and Roo and I considered Fevola too. Many forget just how good Fev actually was.

I chose for balance as if choosing 3 KPF for a new team:
Riewoldt the endurance player that can lead and run up the ground.
Franklin as the super athletic and agile forward.
Brown as the bull that will take the big marks and break open packs.

All big man bases of a 3 prone attack covered.

I started this thread as my own little human behavior experiment, and sadly, what I thought would happen, did.

It is a prime example of the denizens of BigFooty not being able to think for themselves, and relying on the group think to make a decision for them.
