Not sure if you guys can remember, but in the 3rd 1/4 Byron lined up the Snake man and almost got him. But just to symbolise Ports afternoon, Simmo just bounced of him and kept going. Can't remember what happened after that though, beer had taken it's toll by then.

I remember that, it was coming out of defense just past their 50 metre arch. To be honest, I think Byron pulled it up a little bit at the last minute, worried that he'd clean Troy up and get reported. Should have tackled him anyway. Troy rode the bump too easily and kicked it further to someone on the other side of the centre square.

the bumping instead of tackling trend is sneaking into byron and some other players games. ive seen Kane do it numerous times as well. when the opposition has the ball, TACKLE! i cant remember this particular incident and whether simmonds had the ball or not, but i thought i would still bring this up

Yeh they mentioned it on White Line Fever and Simmonds had the ball

Agreed, there are times when a bump is most effective, but that wasn't one of them as the result showed. I'm sure the coach would have had a word to him about it.
