Round 21 has ended and the ladder hasnt changed (no disrespect to you guys) and you come across Carlton who are tanking their games so that they can get the priority pick..
Now if carlton lose, they get pick 1, Tiges pick 2 and you guys pick 3.. Do you think it would be worth tanking a game to get pick 2 and lets say at the time there are 2 standouts in the draft..
It just really irritates me to see teams taking advantage of the draft (these teams will eventually ruin it for the struggling teams in coming years)..
Just want to know your thoughts on this..
Do you guys think its fair for a team to finish above you guys to get a pick before you..
Interested to see some of your thoughts.. I dont mind the red and the blue, hope you guys rise back up there soon.. Cheers..

The system will be changed very soon and it should be because it's s**t but for now I wouldn't tank and i don't think it's even possible to tank with Carlton because it's just so hard to lose to them.

Even though we were their bunnies last year. :thumbsd:

I don't like the fact that we are in this situation, where losing is sort of acceptable because "we'll get a good draft pick". Sure I will take whatever pick we get, but the system in general has to be changed somehow. It encourages clubs to put the cue in the rack half way through a season, "rest" their senior players and blood the youngsters. And sure that will have some benefits (blooding youngsters and getting your stars fresh) but we also want to promote a competitive league where clubs are having a crack right until the very end. There should be shame in finishing bottom four. At the moment, there isn't because clubs get rewarded in the draft.

NB - this isn't to say that Melbourne is doing the above, because we've had no other choice with our injuries, but it does happen quite a bit throughout the league.

I honestly hope Carlton win a game between now and then because I never have and never will advocate tanking and will be very p1ssed off if Carlton don't win another game for the year, because they will be clearly tanking otherwise.

Carlton play Essendon in round 20 which should solve the problem. But if it didn't well I'd want us to lose, I want the kids we're playing to win as many games as they can now but to stop Carlton getting a priority pick it would be worth it.
