Good Win but Not a Terrible High Standerd of Game.

Phillips was fantastic. Got lot of Ball and used it well.

Aish did not get big numbers as played Flank and not Midfield like in the VFL. Though did lot of 1%ers like Tackles,Smothers and Shaperds.

Grundy destroyed Clark and Hannath.

Treloar great end to game after Poor Start.

Clokes Body Language was Good

On the whole we have a shitload we need to work on, Fremantle couldn't hit the side of a barn in the first half and we really should of been 10 goals up if we were a good team

Very strange game. Plenty of negatives but as far as positives go, we saw some good performances from Maynard, Philips and Marsh.

Varcoe had some very good forward pressure and work rate despite not really troubling the stat sheet. Hasn't been running that much over the past few weeks.

I'm not sure on Brown. Can defend but just doesn't have a damaging enough kick for the modern game. I'm actually looking forward to Keeffe potentially coming back next year.

I liked the games of aish Phillips Maynard and marsh.

Maynard had a really good game IMO. Intercept marking, meters gain, defensive work, well done to the kid!
Marsh, If he can continue this performance, he is best 22 without doubt.
Reid, good as usual, probably most consistent player for us
Treloar is alright, not outstanding because of some errors, but getting touches.
Trav, good game, work hard, seems guys really want to help him to build form, beautiful kick near boundaries, terrible kick at front
Pendles, it is a relatively quite game for Pendles
Grundy, had some beautiful tap in the first quarter
Phillips, I love the confidence this guy have, keep improving
Player of the match, Dane Swan, numbers of quality and funny tweets in the our official account

It is not a perfect game, but a win is a win. Building to beat Carltank next week.

Poor 3rd quarter where we struggled with Freo's extra man back. Whatever was said and done at the break to overcome boring Ross Lyon worked because we certainly responded well in the last.

I liked the fact that every player contributed. That's something we've been missing too much this year.

But as others have mentioned:

The good: Grundy, Marsh, Maynard plus usual suspects like Reid and Treloar

The steps forward: Philips, Aish, Sinclair, Cloke, Brown, Sinclair.

Great to get the win, boys played well tonight.

Great to see Cloke come back and have a crack. I'm happy to say maybe I've written him off prematurely if he can play life that. Brown was also much better and on that performance should keep Frost out.

Pendlebury was down tonight. But the best thing tonight was the number of young players who stood up.

I thought Marsh, Maynard, Phillips, and Aish (Aish from a very low base) all played their best games so far for Collingwood. Aish wasn't great, but I thought passable, which is a big improvement from where he was. Cox was another who, while not brilliant, had a crack and played his best game yet IMO.

The back six looked pretty solid tonight. Maybe got the right mix there now.
