So out 8
In (to date) 1, but more likely we will trade for others, plus Frost elevated
Leaves say 5 spots to fill.
We may only use 3 or 4 draft selections and allow for an elevation if we want to

Just a normal year
Yep, standard

I'd say we're going to have to fill at least 2 senior list spots we hadn't planned to.

Hine most likely would have been aware a couple of seasons ago that this draft shaped as being shallower in the later rounds and as such factored that into our list management till now.

Of course with the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Thomas and Keeffe and with a top 10 selection wanting out we now have to make the best out of the hand we've been dealt.

We really should be pushing for 2015 2nd rd picks for Freeman and Seedsman in preference to ones in 2016 IMO.

Gaining 2015 picks will carry more weight in trade negotiations for opposition players you feel as well giving us the option of taking them to the draft in a year where we will be without a first round selection most likely.

In a supposed shallow draft it wont be ideal having to fill 3 or more spots with multiple picks outside the first two rounds.

Oh yeah those 3 matches in 2013 told us everything we need to know on him! It's no shame to be behind Buddy, Roughead, Gunston and Hale at Hawthorn in his time.

Definitely not a superstar, but as good an option as any to fill a depth role.
The fact the Schoenmachers plays ahead of him just shows he is not up to it

Don't mind the idea of Grimley, a sustained run at it could work out for us, the one i really want and could be gettable for an early second round pick is Liam McBean, behind Jack, Vickery and Griffiths he is developing very nicely in the VFL, is still only 21 or 22 and has some real talent.

Needs a bit more weight on his frame but i reckon he will prove to be a pretty good player by the time he hits 24 or 25 years of age and is easily worth the gamble.

Watched him the last two GF's Dave....he's just not as good as people might want to think.

Was leading Goal Kicker in the VFL last 2 years

Tim O'brien (should already have him) and Jed Anderson are two we should be chasing hard. Both are behind a few at the hawks, but Anderson is one especially who would make a difference for us.

How many elites will come in thats a big thing
Treloar TICK

Would love Both but I can't see Hawks Trading them away

Not sure on McBean contract status but definitely don't go posting your idea on Tigers board - some of them think he is their Darcy Moore (or not far behind)

Contracted until end of next year, Richmond has 4 tall forwards and usually play 2 or 3, McBean will be a very good player and IMO we would be silly not to enquire.

I had a quick look at their list and they've actually got 6 - the 4 you've mentioned plus Todd Elton & Reece McKenzie. Given McBean contracted for another year (and Richmond would be looking for McBean or Elton or McKenzie to be the long term replacement for JR and shorter term pushing Vickery or Griff out of the side) if Hine agrees on your potential assessment now would be the time to plant the seed and end of next year if not re-signed make a play. Richmond won't let a contracted forward go easily when they have given themselves a good chance of having one develop.

Agreed really good match for our list which is thin on classy quick outside mids

Would much rather Sicily personally. Dunno how he went yesterday though.
1 goal, 8 disposals, 4 marks, 1 tackle.

Nobody, including Hine, would have had the slightest clue about the depth of a draft 2 years prior when the kids were 15. Development of kids in this age group is anything BUT linear and probably a third or more of this years draft wont have even been on the radar 2 years ago and plenty who were would have dropped off.

So Seedsman & Freeman confirmed departures.
Oxley a maybe?
Kennedy staying?
Incoming...Treloar & Aish?
A few other depth players to arrive as well? Moore or Young?
Looking good so far...before we even start!

I think what we are losing isn't much value to the team thankfully. Not like a Shaw, Wellingham, Beams value. So I think it could be a decent trade period for us.

Still think we need to be active in searching for a full time goal sneak. Fas & Elliott are more up the ground flankers than perma forward pockets. Especially since they both have pretty accurate kicking. We need that pest of a small forward in and around the goals.
