Pies smashed a contender in Melbourne and play ordinary against Carlton but take the 4 points.

Not pretty and not exciting but we will take the 4 points and move along to Gold Coast!

You don’t need to be playing your best 24/7. You need to show up against the good good sides and still beat the bottoms

FMD. The umps are out and out cheats. I watched one passage of play, 3 incorrect disposals in 20 seconds, none paid, Blues then cleared the ball. Lucky for us the umpires only gifted them 5 goals.

But it's a 'W' in the left column, and top four for now. Dunno if we're a contender yet though.

All the teams have struggled after the bye. 4 points is what mattered, and we did what had to be done. Need to get our groove back and flog Gold Coast next week. A couple of changes probably necessary, and need some of the quality to return after that to build into the run home. Satisfied enough with what was a low quality match.

That was gross but every team has these days. At least we won. Last year we lose that game by 1-2 goals after just being in front all game.

Genuine tests still to come. We did the age old “playing to their level”.
