I am having a real hard time lately with not being able to find suitable pillows to support my neck and head...end up with sore neck and headache in the morning at least twice a week I guess.

Have tried high pillows, soft pillows, hard pillows...not much is working. Any ideas on getting a decent pillow?

Latex. That is all you need. They last forever and are so amazingly comfortable!
You will need to lie on a mattress (similar to the one you have at home) with whatever pillow you are looking at to see if it is too high/low etc, a lot of people who don't do this have issues (I used to work at snooze).

Yup, I use a latex pillow. Cost about $55, worth a try.

I don't think there is a right or wrong answer - find what suits you. However, as a sufferer of various 'bad necks' over time, I reckon getting some flexibility and strength into my neck by appropriate exercises (as described by Osteo and Physio) certainly helped.

Maybe you need you neck straightened a bit, maybe your shoulders ar a bit out of whack - it's worth a visit to one of those guys, if you are getting regular irritations.

Same as OP. Tried heaps the last few years nothing seems to work. Half the time I wake up half twisted and facing the matress.

I had very bad neck and shoulder pain from sleeping for years until a Chiro recommended I try a Dentons profile pillow. It has been sublime, have slept like a log for 12 months now with no pain and discomfort. I am a side sleeper and this pillow has worked a treat. Hope this helps

Definitely just depends on what suits you, so just trying out everything until you find something good. I tried latex and hated it.
I have a high, fairly firm pillow now. I love it. I mostly stick to the corner of my pillows, and the middle being high makes it more comfortable.

Depends on how you sleep. I suspect you are going through a transition stage similar to menopause or a mid life crisis.

You may have slept all of your life so far in the "foetal" position (ie on your side) and now and changing to the "Saturday Night fever" position (on your belly but in the SNF stance).

In the foetal position, to keep your neck and head aligned you need a thick sturdy pillow, but in the SNF position you only need a thin pillow.

I'm on real thin pillows now but when I first changed (I was about 15/16) I had to have a purpose built pillow. Thin, sturdy, flat on the bottom, but tilde shape on the top.

It worked. I could sleep.

Check out the contour pillows, the have a B shape to them, that supports your neck, but the middle of the pillow (where the back/side of your head rests) has a slight hollow so your neck isn't stretched out at some weird angle. Either that or you can try an orthopaedic (cbf with the spelling of it, you know what I mean) pillow, which I think you can pick up from Chyro's etc. Both are pretty much the same sort of shape. REALLY worth chasing up.

Have used both sorts for the last 10 years, struggle to use a normal pillow now when I sleep somewhere other than my own bed.
