I know CarterS has been looking forward to this one, but unfortunately he can't listen. The webstream isn't up on the site.

Anyway, 8-10pm EST tonight on SYN 90.7 FM we'll be taking a look at the 40 year history of Pink Floyd. From their very beginnings with Syd Barrett at the helm through to 1994's The Division Bell.

If you're in Melbourne, you can tune in normally, and if you aren't in Melbourne or cannot listen in, just let me know and I'll organise to get a copy of the show to you either in hard copy or via the net.

No chance, they have never ever covered House of the rising sun. Great list btw, good to see you didn't stick to the old Breathe, Comfortably Numb, Wish You Were Here list (though they are in there).

You put the full Echoes in there?

I'm proud :)

was flicking through the official live 8 book. a few floyd pics of the band in arms, quotes from members and a bit of a write up on the bands performance which was one of my highlights, if not the musical and nostalgic highlight of the night, other than the Macca show

Nah it was not only the highlight of Live 8, but the best moment i can remember in the past 15 years of music. Of course i am so biased its not really worth any weight.

We ran out of time and finished with High Hopes anyway, but you sure they never cover House... live? It bloody well sounds like them.

It's actually a band called Frigid Pink. A very psychedelic cover that does sound like Pink Floyd.

When I downloaded it a couple of years ago I was also convinced it was them. My Dad dismissed it pretty quickly – I guess listening to Pink Floyd for the best part of 30 years makes you a bit of an expert.

Hah. Lucky we didn't play it then. Never knew that fact, CarterS. It's a shame, I'd love to have heard a wall of Gilmour guitar to many a song done by others.
