Thought we were only allowed 4 guernseys per year.

1. Gold Home
2. Brown Away
3. Clash/Power Rangers
4. Indiginous

Good cause and all, but terrible guernsey. Are we trying to create the worst ever guernseys?
I really think we are.
Why didn't they just put a little ribbon on it instead.
I think we all know what breast cancer is, I don't really need to have pink shoved in my face to remind me

It's all about raising awareness in those who are ignorant of the issue.

If we can get one woman to say "why are the Hawks wearing that horrible pink colour? Oh wait, breast cancer, I'd better get see my doctor", then it's done its job.

If you look closely, it's covered in little pink ribbons

That's pretty insulting to women if you think we need to watch the football to remind us to ge mammogram.
I doubt most women are that ignorant

Couldn't have just worn pink socks to get people to ask the same question, "Huh um why are Hawthorn wearing pink socks?"

I know the cause is most admirable, but my skeptical mind reckons money, and not only that raised for cancer awareness, motivates many of these new jumper moves. Marketing gurus are masters at creating new needs to boost sales, and increase cash turnover.

As for the jumper, well we have had worse, so as lomg as it's wotn by winners, then it'll be OK.

I clicked on the link in the OP a little earlier this morning and it worked and now it doesn't, and the club hasn't announced anything yet. Seems someone at the club jumped the gun putting it up on the website.

Hawks do this game in Tassie in conjunction with the Tasmanian Cancer Council and last year it raised over $12,000 in donations made at the ground I have no issue with it at like the Indigenous Guernsey it is for a reason, neither of those jumpers should be compared to the power ranger jumper.

The link now takes you to the homepage of hawksnest, I think they have jumped gun.

But it's not insulting: you and your friends may be well aware of the issue, but there may be women out there who are not informed, or are just ignoring the problem.
If we can get some of them to at least get checked, it will be a success.

I know that I got my spots checked out after the Roughie story - it's just raising awareness.

I did the same. For a while I knew I should have done something; I just didn't have the motivation to actually do it. The Roughy issue got me off my arse.
