a friend with weed is better...

they're ok... got a few of their albums... the whiny nasally voice gets annoying after a while...
 
the only song i like from them is every me, every you.
 
I like Special K, Pure Morning, Every Me Every You... haven't really heard much else.

Not a bad band, I recently heard a group called Vex Red they're not unlike Placebo but I think I like Vex Red better :)
 
Placebo are a bit of a 'best of' band for mine. I have their 'best of' and enjoy it... but it doesnt leave me wanting more.
I agree the voice can be a bit much....
i still like them though
 
They are not bad at all.

Best song by a mile is Special Needs - absolute gold.

Other goodens are The Bitter End, Every Me and Every You and This Picture.
 
They are actually pretty good!!!!
But the lead singer is a little bit strange , kind of scary!!!!
They are for long time in the music buisness and still popular and that's not easy!!! I think they have good texts!! :)

Agreed. I cannot listen to them too often or for too long.

Once in a blue moon is good for me.
 
First album is a belter , but a slow downward spiral since then .

Once Brian Molko started taking himself to seriously after "Without You" , it was all over .

Seen them a few times . First tour of Oz back in about 99-00 ? something like that , saw them at the Prince of Wales and would have to say one of the better gigs i have ever been to .

Kept it simple , raw energy , little effects , passion . Sadly now they have degenerated into a contrived - tech laden - self concious shadow of thier energetic youth

Never been a huge fan

I have their best of, which I put on rarely

Saw them at Splendour a few years ago, they put on a great live show
 
Love them. Saw them on Sunday arvo as they played as part of the Oxegen Festival. Very tight and organised and really put a few of the less credentialed bands to shame with how to put a set list together and how to make it enjoyable for the audience. Being a festival they mixed it up playing songs from Meds, but also their classics like Special K, Every You, Bitter End etc.....as to nausally voice..love it - no worse than Billy Corgan's and part of what makes them so distinctive.....definitely recommend seeing them.

was saying to my g/f the other night that i like these guys, even have a couple of their albums. but they are something i listen to if they come on rather than something i put on myself. i think they get a certain sameness about them once you listen to a whole album. tho when they get it right, they really get it right. like on 'taste in men' for instance.

Saw them at festival hall last year. One of those gigs you go to expecting not much and getting lots.

Awesome live show that was!!

Solid band with Solid Music (IMO of course)



Just looking in this thread alone, I love how music is SOOOOO subjective. What one person loves, another hates....but that's a whole nother story!! I could go on for days about this
