It was fantastic to read that Richmond will be debt free by the end of this year. The next step in the process should now be to plan some long term investments to shore up the financial future of the RFC.
Hopefully we will be successful for many years but we need to start planning now to build a war chest and alternate revenue streams for when the next downturn occurs. If this is done we will not be in the wilderness on a long term basis and our players will not have to endure substandard facilities and reduced coaching staff.
We must use this opportunity so we never return to the situation of past years (begging members for money and operating on a shoestring budget).
I have total faith in Benny Gale and what he has done so far. I now want to see some future financial planning so we know that our long term future is assured.
