It's a plug and play device, you just buy a game and away you go.
Buy a decent sized memory card, that's probably it.

I got my psp a while ago, but i doubt they have substantial internal memory in the newer models.
A memory card is a good thing to have if you want to download content from the playstation online store.
Setting up wireless is handy for firmware updates and linking to the ps3.
The screen is decent enough to watch video on if you're into that sort of thing, but there are so many other devices that are dedicated to video and music that you wouldn't bother with it other than for the novelty of it.
I got custom firmware on mine, I suggest you find someone that can do it for you, it just makes it so much better. You can download games for free and store it on the memory card and get all kinds of homebrew games and apps.
the PSP doesn't have internal storage, it's all on the memory stick, though the new PSP with 16GB storage has already been announced, should have waited for that..
or got a DSi..!
but that doesn't help you so just get GTA, can't lose with that
Yeah I bought inline GTA, Ratchet and Crank, Final Fantasy and tekken, thought that would keep the boys happy.
To play em connected does both consoles need a disk or only one?
What people are saying is correct, the PSP does not have internal memory as such. It uses a memory stick pro duo. I bought mine at launch with a whopping 32 megabyte card and I am not sure what now comes with the system. They are not expensive now and you can pick up a 4 gig for about $40.
One thing to be mindful of is that Sony are moving towards the download market with the PSP. Therefore I would recommend that if you dont already that you need to get cable or ADSL 2.0 broadband with a high download limit. Sony are releasing the PSP GO system in a couple of months which is essentially a redesign of the PSP and it no longer supports the UMD format. More than likely it will mean that the days of games being released on UMD may be numbered.
Sony are trying to make the PSP similar to the iphone with an apps store etc for the PSP.
Definately a good purchase and IMO better than the DS, also there is also the AFL game which is a due in a month or two.
