Very disappointed in the game. We had so many opportunities and couldn't convert them. The biggest problem was the gap between our best and worst players. Our jitters early really hurt us as we were always playing catch-up. When we settled we looked good. The hard part is that you never know when we you will get back.

Pav: 5/10 Had a couple of bursts of good play and looked dangerous at times. For us to win however, he needed to do more without the ball. I know it's not his game but I saw to many times he was weak in his second efforts. Not 100% sure but I believe his direct opponent won the Norm Smith.

Mundy: 9/10 Was outstanding. Looked smooth in tight and won many clearances. One of the only players that looked comfortable with the ball.

McPharlin: 4/10 Hard to rate him. I thought he defended well but a few crucial disposals by foot hurt us (and the 50). Would have been a lot better with a few more games under his belt.

Ballas: 1/10 The biggest disappointment of the team. I would like to say it was because he tried too hard but really he just did not handle the pressure at all. Forget about his skills and slipping over, even his tackling and pressure was non-existent.

Sutcliffe: 3/10 Was pretty much a non factor in the game.

Neale (sub): 5/10 Obviuosly only on for a quarter but was good in that time. Actually found a bit of the ball.

Clarke: 2/10 Didn't do a huge amount for the game and was subbed off, however, he would have been crucial down forward in the last qtr. We needed a big target to compete in the air.

Sandilands: 6/10 Was good with his ruck work and I was particularly impressed by his ground work. There were a few things he did today with ground level balls I never seen him do before.

Barlow: 7/10 Worked his way into the game. To be a solid contributor but didn't use the ball that well today.

Fyfe:8/10 Would have been up there with Mundy, however, those missed goals really hurt and set the scene for us. Around the ground he was great.

Pearce: 3/10 It is a running joke with my mates how much I've bagged him in the past. Today showed why I don't rate him. Had a few touches but the amount of times he stuffed up kicks and fumbled the ball. For someone who came with a reputation of being polished I've barely seen it.

Dawson: 3/10 Was not his best game. I'm a fan of his work normally but Gunston got a hold of him early.

Duffield: 6/10 Got a little bit of the ball and used it well. His defensive work was a little iffy.

de Boer: 4/10 Have been disappointed with him in the second half of the year. Does play a very hard role but is becoming a non-factor in games.

Johnson: 7/10 Played his normal general type game. Was impressed considering he was touch and go going into the game.

Walters: 6/10 Like most of our recent games he has been our most dangerous forward. Goes for his marks which is good but at times they are unrealistic attempts.

Hill: 5/10 Another Hilly type game. Good in patches but doesn't do enough.

Crowley:8/10 A huge game by him again. Mitchell has been cutting up teams and Crowley made him a non-factor. I heard that he only had about 12 disposal. Out of those 12 at least 4 would have been grubbers along the ground with no effect.

Spurr: 4/10 I'm a big fan, however, it was a quiet game for him.

Suban:4/10 Early I was encouraged, he seemed to be around a lot of the action. Unfortunately he didn't do much after that.

Mayne: 4/10 Didn't bring his best. Outside of his goal he floated in and out of the game.

Mzungu: 6/10 Was a consistent performer. Was impressed by him early and loved how he kicked that goal when no one else could get near it.

Cant argue with any of that.. the fact one of our only two players with GF experience turned the ball directly over within 90 secs didn't help everyone else. Although I wont hang Danyle entirely, has had a good year

The disappointing aspect of the Pearce kick was that Johnno had an acre ahead of him so the kick would have been fine even if it landed well ahead of him. He had plenty of room for error ahead but dropped it short.

Whilst Sandi did some nice work in the ruck and around the packs his marking efforts around the ground were really extremely poor, not a shadow on his previous two games. Our rucks took two marks between them compared to the Hawks eight. The Swans ruck combo took 8 marks to claim the 2012 Premiership. Sandi really needs to make the opposition feel his presence far more.

All year I have been worried about our forward pressure on the scoreboard, and one day we could pay for it.
I had hoped Mellington would provide the scoreboard pressure we lacked, and if he is still with us next year, needs a kick up the arse. Has a lot of shots on goal in the wafl, and if he converted his chances better would of kicked at least 40 plus from mid/forward role.
Silvagni was the surprise omission in the GF, can be used as a swingman, giving us options at both ends,
bringing height, experience to the table.
