I really think that we are being unfair on Hulme. He has had injury problems and when fit has not been given adequate time on the ball. This has resulted in him losing self belief and performing below his capacity.

He is a great clearance player, is fully committed to the contest and applies great pressure.

Whilst he is not a long kick he has the capacity to hit targets when in form. He is also sharp with his hanball options and doesnt falter in the heat of the kitchen.

I believe that he has given us great service and that we owe him a full season before we look at discarding him.

Hulme hitting targets...what game have you been watching?

Hulme is one of the worst disposers at the club, his kicking is downright awful, he is awful in the air and is too small to be a true in-and-under player. He has guts, yes, but his mentality that he thinks he is better than his opponent sometimes gets him into trouble. How many times have we seen him try to run around a player and been pinged for holding the ball? Too many.

Trade bait and/or delist material. Being managed by Allison doesn't help his cause.

I can hit targets 15 metres away when I'm half cut.

Great, get him a job at McDonald's! Down on confidence, Hulme has faltered a fair bit actually.

Hmmm, some have been calling for his head for a couple of years now and a full season is not a guarantee for anyone but the elite and even then injuries can happen.

Not trying to bag the guy but the defence is flimsy in this case. Pup at his best is a walk up start, Pup of recent seasons is a real concern and let's face it, he has had more below average years than he has had good ones over his career.

Love the little guy but emotion towards mid range players shouldn't come into our future plans.

I still think that Hulme is worth keeping for at least one more season.

My point about his confidence is a very valid one and is the cornerstone of my argument. If his confidence is up then he is certainly valuable and can hit targets even though his range is probably only about 40m at best.

If we were going to discard players for playing beneath their potential then most of our list would be gone. As a side we need to decide who can play and then work at building team spirit and faith.

Is there anyone out there who still believes in him? From the reply to my post it seems not.
