players for the future?

what TYPE of player should we be looking at for our number 7 pick??
a) a key defender (which we have a number of young ones who arent quite ready to step up)
b) an in and under type midfielder
c) something else

A midfielder, most definitely. None of the projected top draft picks are defenders capable of stepping into an immediate senior role, and given that we already have Powell, Roberts-Thomson and Hunt, there is no point in having yet another long-term prospect sitting on the list for a couple of years. A midfielder is the best bet - smaller players chosen high in the draft are far more likely to turn out to be good players in the future than key position players.

A midfielder with good skills should be the preference this year.
