I was intersted in Bomber Thompsons comment during his press conference about how after we had wrapped up the minor premiership they considered the last 3 games of the H&A season as dead rubbers. He implied that they were just playing in bursts during that period as opposed to last Sundays game where the gameplan was instigated for 4 quarters.

Had me thinking how well he had foxed us all (well me anyway) with the "one week at a time" line. I think many (including the so called media experts) have thought maybe sides like PA have caught us up going on our lasts months form. Particularly with the PA win over us when we nearly snatched it with one of those bursts. I now feel an even greater level of respect for the Coaching staff as it seems they were employing some pre-finals tactics that may catch our opposition off guard. The Roos definetly seemed to have been foxed.

The irony being that this time last year we were calling for the sack for Bomber.

I'm just excited by the outcome of the Cats playing four quarters of their gameplan!
To win by 106 points in a QF is unbelievable, and shows that when we are ruthless and play for the whole game, then even if we get behind at some stage, we can come back in a hurry.

I expected this to be the case; that we were just playing in enough bursts to win in the last month or so, and holding out for the Finals. Against north and brisbane in particular we stopped playing once we got a decent margain, they fought back, only for us to kick away again. It was like a game of cat and mouse really, with us controlling the tempo perfectly :P It backfired against Port because well... they are a very good side with alot of confidence and when they get momentum going its hard to stop.

I thought it was really obvious too: come out, kick four or five straight, then back off. Didn't work against Port but then I wonder who actually psyched who on that one... guess we might see in a couple of weeks!

I thought this week though was the perfect time to make a statement. 106 points is the way to do it!
