Yeah that's what I meant.

Hardly a ringing endorsement. If I just need a few laughs I only have to wait for the next Essendon game.
Its like job simulator. Its great at first, but then its the same thing in a different setting.

You never tried Superhot?

I find it a pain in the arse to set up and put away so it's generally laziness that stops me from using it.
nah haven't tried Superhot. Its the setup and laziness 100%. Too clunky with the cords, lining up the camera, etc.

I just want the VR to wander around Skyrim for hours on end but I couldn't justify the price.

If I get any tax money back this year I might pick it up.

I never bothered with Farpoint but Superhot is worth it 100%.
Farpoint is probably the best game on the PSVR I've played. The movement and the gun play with the aim controller is great.

The price drop has me somewhat interested. Do people consider it worth it at the moment or is it likely to be another Vita?

I love the tech, have used a Vive on PC at work and it's awesome. Main concerns I guess are if it's as responsive as the Vive, and the catalogue. Thanks to Steam there are stacks and stacks of things to smash through on PC, from what I saw on the PS4 titles are very limited still? Is it likely to pick up or is it likely to stay like has been discussed above, no customer take up = no games = no customer take up.
Ok my honest review as I have had it since release date.

It was exciting for about the first 3 months. Something new and fresh and some games really bring it to life and possibilities of the future.

But after that Ive pretty much stopped playing it. Only game Id say are full length and worth it are Resident Evil and Far Point with proper cut scenes.

Skyrim but I got over that as it wasnt really as good looking as the other two mentioned above.

Now the let down and pretty much why it isn't there yet as a must have gaming device.
1. The setup is a pain in the ass. Wires and honestly I just cant be stuffed anymore getting it out and going through a bunch or wires to play a game.

2. Most games are short in legnth and graphic wise they play like a PS2. Quality just inst there yet.

3. The technology isnt there to be able to make constant quality games like Resident Evil 7. I believe now that it was a once off game that took years and years to build. Nothing has came close and it was realeased nearly two years ago.

4. Eye strain is a huge problem for me. VR is like 3x what it is like playing a 2d game. I'm not sure if VR will ever make it because of people getting eye strains from it. You just simply cant play it for too long.

5. Most video app have horrible quality.

Overall- a nice intro into VR and will be interesting for the first few months while its new and fresh but as it wears on it simply doesnt have enough to see a future with the psvr. I think they are close but this isnt the answer just yet. Much as you try to tell yourself its great. End of the day it feels like you are playing PS1 while you want to be playing a PS4.

Cheers, very helpful. I don't mind the short games, having a 1.5 year old means game time is limited. Vive definitely seems like the better option considering the mass of titles around, but still pretty costly so might wait it out until either the Vive gets crazy cheap or the PS expands its catalogue considerably.

Just purchased Knockout League and The Rick and Morty game as both are on sale for ~25 dollars. Knockout League apparently a decent work out so that will be nice.

For those that want to try skyrim VR but baulk at the ~$90 price, Big W are selling it for $20 if you can get in store or $25 with delivery online.

Doom VFR is also the same price.

Beerfish and whoever else has one.

Uppercut yourself.

The VR (without PS4 Camera) is $268 at Catch Online. It would be possible to get the lot (minus move controllers) for under $350

Not sure if its worth it, have heard mixed reviews on the PSVR and its longevity.

Which version is that? The original version has no HDR pass through so if that’s something you use on your TV then you have to disconnect and reconnect the unit every time.

Can’t tell you if it’s worth it or not because that’s something only you will be able to determine but in my experience the technology is great but the offerings are very limited. It’s pretty cool to show off to other people though.

Doesn't say but I am going to assume based on price its the original version.

Ended up getting the PSVR, should arrive this week.
$268 for the Console, got a pre-owned camera (which was basically brand new, all original packaging just a return) from EB Games for $40 odd. Had the old PS Move so have at least one motion controller, might have to get a second.

What are the recommended games. I hear Wipeout, Resident Evil, Superhot and Skyrim mentioned a fair bit.

Congratulations.

I really enjoyed Eagle Flight. I wouldn't bother with Skyrim. I doubt you'd be able to suffer wearing the unit for the session lengths a game like that demands. Megaton Rainfall is a cheap but cool little ditty you could check out.
