Fingers crossed the bid fails. Waste of money. If it doesn't, i shall happily enjoy the soccer party if we do indeed win it. No point fighting it or being angry. I shall just accept it. Even though it's a monumental waste of money.

I know, if an Aussie Rules World Cup clashes with a MVFC match I'd certainly be watching the Victory.

Nothing strange about it. It's the way i feel. I find the WC to be an exorbitant burden on taxpayers. Couple this with all this tax free BS! FIFA were granted in South Africa. It's a disgrace. Will FIFA be given the same privileges in Australia? But if we do win it, then there is no point hiding from it.

Ill give you a friendly word of advice: don't quote anything that BSE says, because 99% of the time it is biased propaganda rubbish. FIFA is based in Switzerland, all TV rights deals are done in Switzerland, they pay money to the Swiss tax system. It isn't tax free- that's propaganda BS spouted by idiots like BSE.

Do you really think that Channel 7 payed income tax to the Chinese for money they earned from telecasts of the 2008 Olympics?

One thing we know is that the World Cup isn't an exorbitant burden on taxpayer; South Africa 2010 was a huge economic success and they have doubled the population and half of the Gross Domestic Product.
