The only postive from yesterdays game it was a practice match. There is not one player in our team who can take a pack mark . Esp Andrew Walker the kid has a great leap but his judgement and reading the flight of the ball is terrible. Yesterday on the wing he had a perfect position to take a great mark and totally misread it and its not the first time i just dont understand how these players who play at the elite level play like this. I was so frustrated yesterday i wanted to jump on the field and teach the kid how to mark.

Pack mark opportunities are pretty rare these days. I'd be happier if someone could hit a target that's thirty meters or more away. Let's deal with that first and move on.

Totally agree with you.
Our field kicking would be the worse in the AFL by miles.
Poor kicking creates pressure, pressure creates errors, errors create turnovers, turnovers create opposition goals, opposition goals create losses...and so and so forth.

Josh Kennedy can take pack marks, he'll be worth the wait for Blues supporters.

Scottie Gumbleton and Lachie Hansen are just two of the outstanding key position prospects. James Sellar is also a standout at this early stage. Rated No.1 overall at the moment by many of the recruiters, talent scouts and AFL staff.

Waite, Fisher, Raso, Thornton, Saddington and De Luca are not really genuine KPP or noted pack-markers. At this stage they are probably best suited to a flank or pocket but this doesn't mean that cant play key position, rather they would be luxeries on flanks and in pockets if we can get some excellent bigger bodies around them which leads me to...

...Kennedy. Is a different player and can do this. Hartlett likes the body stuff also while Edwards and Bower could develop into a more stronger and powerful type of "tall" when their bodies fill out.

Certainlly can take a pack mark and is one of my favorite players at the club.
The problem is his goal kicking for a forward is pretty crap and has been for a while. It is something you would have they worked on over the summer period, but their appears to have been little improvement.

Actually according to Champion Data Brad Fisher accuracy in front of goal is above average.

i do agree with you there i must say, he kicking is not all that bad, but the pack mark contests are his strongest point..............

Is It?
I will have to check my new footballing bible The AFL Prospectus 2006.
I would not be suprised though.
It just seems i am always saying "Great mark Fish" then following it up with a "Arrgghh bloody hell".
That said if he stays fit he will play 22 games this year (plus finals ;) ) and be the big big improver in 2006.

You are right.
I promise in future to stop "maligning" Fisher.:)
I have probably been down having a wizz when he actually puts it through the big sticks and in my seat when he misses.
