I recently re-watched season 1 & 2 of the anime. Started season 3 and really couldn't continue watching it. I will give it another go soon.

Team Rocket really ruins it for me!! lol
Team Rocket always annoyed me as well but apparently they're extremely popular in Japan so there's no way they would ever get rid of them.

The original leaker has claimed that only Kanto pokemon will be available. Seems this may be closer to a remake than a sequel if that’s the case.

Someone was saying it may be like Yellow, but you can have either Pikachu or Eevee as your starter..?

Not 100 percent sure, but if it is a Kanto remake I'm in.

Yeah that’s how it’s looking, not sure if they will have Pikachu unable to evolve like the first game but we will see

I actually prefer Riachu to Pikachu, but would kinda like to start with Eevee, so then I could have Jolten following me around :)

Dunno how I’d feel about the original 151 only. Hopefully some unlock later on. Dark, steel and ghosts are gonna be rare.
Would be interesting to see how easy Lance would be to defeat with the edition of Fairy typing haha

It’s hard to say what’s they’re understanding is for going down this path, I think they are really trying hard to pull in the players who stopped after the first games back in the day, if they do that they would need to take into account the age of those players and wounding hopefully change up the story to suit an older demographic.

Yeah they’re going for the ppl who got back into Pokémon go after 15-20 years away from the franchise, if it’s true.

Talking of fairies, cannot wait to see mt moon. I really hope they go all out with designs of the dungeons and complicate and expand the hell out of them.

Just realized there’s no point in me taking pikachu as magneton will have to be in my party due to steel typing.

It's not just the story, the last few games have been almost completely targeted at young audiences.

If they are going to target the "Nostalgia Crew" - the title "Let's go, Pikachu!" doesn't really give me confidence that they know how to do it.

Ideally for me, the story wouldn’t be shoved down our throats at all. Whether it’s childish or mature doesn’t bother me as I’ll skip most of it anyway. I’d just like to explore and not have a massive conversation or two at every town. I realize there needs to be a story but make it as simple as gen 1.

I’d like them to tell stories through side quests that you could ignore or seek out if they interested you.

I think the issue is more just how much filler there is. I have no issue with story (as long as it's interesting), but inane dialogue with your "friends" about dancing or grooming your Pokemon or when they last went to the bathroom is nowhere near as entertaining or meaningful as they think it is. Cut out the crap and I don't think the story ends up feeling as controlling or forced.

I’d love it if they added a bit more challenge into the dungeons again.

They were never super hard to begin with but they had a bit more depth to them in the older games.

Could very well be it - i've just lumped that in with the story as i button mash 'a' through all of it.

Thought I’d let you all know a little yarn from a young D_P_S.

So pokemon yellow was the first Pokémon game I ever played and I still have the same cartridge and gameboy colour from then. I finished Pokémon Gold before Yellow, now that might come as a suprise but hear me out.

So one day I have a friend come over, he sees my gameboy and asks if I have Pokémon, I did and I showed him my progress. He asks if I had any other Pokémon games and then I find my Pokémon yellow which I haven’t touched in ages, I open up the game and I have 4 badges, a level 80 Pikachu and a level 45 Nidoking. My friend laughs he can’t believe how strong my Pikachu is and asks why I have only 4 badges, we look around to see why I haven’t progressed and we eventually come to the game corner.

My friend says “where are the steps” I then reply “what steps”, my friend says “did you click on the poster?”, I say “no the team rocket guy said not to press it”..........it’s at that time my friend realises how naive I was and all I could say when the stairs appeared was “ooooooh.......cool”

Well safe to say I annihilated everything that stood in my way with my insanely overpowered Pokémon, a funny thing I won’t ever forget. It amazes me how honest and naive I was as a kid that an in game bad guy tells me not to do something and I actually listened to him haha

Isn't the "Let's go Pikachu!" title just the translated version of the Japanese title?

I'm hoping that they just give it better title here. But let's face it the name is the least of our concerns at this point. It's more about what lessons did they learn via the changes that they implemented in Sun/Moon. Which ones worked and which ones didn't.

If they can focus on a more compelling story like S/M tried to, whilst trading back on nostalgia and giving us Kanto in 3D. I think that'll be enough for some.

One of the reasons why Pokemon Silver/Gold are the best because they showcased what happened after Pokemon Blue/Red, we got to see the differences our original journey left. Giovanni MIA, Blue is now a gym leader after getting kicked out of the Elite Four and square off against your original character. The notion that they could craft an experience that taps into that feeling while making it a regular experience for children is pretty damn appealing now that I think about it. Even if it is probably a pipe dream.

Yep pretty much and then gave up once Pokemon Gold came out haha

Is this the main Switch game in the works or just some weird remake spin off to test the water before the main games come in? Would much rather a D/P/P remake...
It's a main game.

Whether it's a new gen or a remake/reboot of an older gen is not known yet, rumors point towards a gen 1 reboot.
