Interesting you say that. Been listening to some very old Hamish and Andy podcasts and back in 2006, they did a competition based on this called Mystery Raffle. They started off with swapping one item for a bigger item, and after about 6 or 7 raffles they went from swapping someones gallstone to a diamond ring.

\After you win the league, a new city opens up, for everyone in your friend list they have their own safari. There's 2 pokemon there frmot he start, a third once you've won the league.

You can catch pokemon not in the game there.
I got a Togepi in smith's safari, a Dusclops in Igloo's, a Krabby in yours! a Magmar in Cager Mcleod's!

Sure, some lead to doubles (I have a few ice guys with basically the same pokemon >.<)

ps. to others, anyone found a Gorebyss in the wild? I found a Huntail, so I'm guessing there might be a Gorebyss around...?

I caught mine with a super rod where you the guy gives you lapras....if that helps...

I think they made catching it easier because you don't really have an opportunity to save before fighting it I mean usually the legendary stays there until you interact with it however Xerneas challenges you straight off and I guess Game Freak didn't want you to miss out if you don't have many balls.

Just a note on this for everyone, when I first encountered X's legendary in Flares base, I got a really badly timed Crit on it and knocked it out. I was about to reset it to try again, when I left the usual battle screen to see the Pokemon still standing infront of me...And then without provocation, it began to fight me again.

It seems its coded so that you can fight it over and over until you do catch it, or at least until it defeats you.

I was about to reset it to try again, when I left the usual battle screen to see the Pokemon still standing infront of me...And then without provocation, it began to fight me again.

It seems its coded so that you can fight it over and over until you do catch it, or at least until it defeats you.

Well it makes sense because the story calls for you to have it in your possession. Team Flare leader only battled you at the end to retrieve it back to power that machine.
