Thank Goodness this scam called online Poker is no longer available To Aussies...If you wanted a badbeat just go all in against a Russian and watch as you get crushed. My last beat was on the bubble in a $15 Tourney. KK on the button SB folds BB goes calls all in with 6.2 of Yep flop was 662 forget the rest. That was only one of many against those cheating Russian C#$%. Australia better off without this scam. Go to the casino and get donked live.
Riiiiight, because 2-outers and the like NEVER happen in live poker.

Love how the interviewer goes straight to "Online Pokies". I often think if Pokies were called Slot Machines, we would be able to have a much fairer debate. Always gets confused and derailed when the issue is mentioned on talk radio.
It is hard to converse with these narrow minded people when it comes to pokies vs poker. For the majority of people, poker is gambling in its seediest form. Whiskey drinking, cigar smoking gun slingers to dimly lit smoke filled rooms with mobsters who cheat to win, poker is stereotyped and as such the narrow minded can’t differentiate between poker and pokies. It’s one and the same, everyone’s losing money to the rigged game.
The fight continues and we will have online poker back in Australia again. When? That depends on all of us who want it back.

Other teams?
Haven't played online for 12-18 months now.

Is there a site Aussie players can deposit and play at currently or are we done?

Dad was hacked on Full Tilt a few years ago. He lost a fair bit of $$$. Someone with a Russian IP was responsible, astounds me that they dont just automatically lock accounts with suspicious activity (like an Australian player logging in with an Australian IP suddenly logs in with a Russian IP). And Full Tilt wanted nothing to do with it.

People can say it's rigged, others say it's not rigged, but facts are there are way more bad beats online than irl.

That may be because there are more hands played? Or it may be because it's fixed

Hey, you may be right, but I'd like to see stats on that rather than accept a general claim of "facts are". It would also need to be a % of hands played, because, yes, online sees way more hands per hour.

Would you care to specify how you believe 'the fix is in'? E.g. Those offering online poker are in cahoots somehow with shady characters from Eastern Europe.

Pokerstars makes millions. The fact people think they would risk a cash cow like that to rig the system against its users to make a little bit more is ridiculous

There is also absolutely no facts to back up bad beats are more common online. There is just a massive number of hands played per x so there will probably be a higher total of bad beats. But there will also be a higher total of everything else.

I always find it amusing when people claim online poker is rigged etc.
Yet they keep depositing money and continue to play...................

It actually depends on the government and how much they charge pokerstars for a license in Australia and if pokerstars is willing to pay said price to a country that makes up less than 5% of their global market.

I can't see pokerstars rushing to get back here, the government will ask for some ridiculous price that amaya won't be able to justify paying for such a small percentage of their income. They will be putting all their energy into the US (in particular California which made up a ridiculous 30% of their global income pre black friday) before they even think about Australia.

Keen for an answer on this too.
ACR's software is hideous, so many glitches (for mac users like me, windows does run much more smoothly though), player pools are def softer but its just not the same as stars. Software and customer service at stars is so much superior, guaranteed pools per buy-in are 1000X better.
And the cashier, via bitcoin, fml, its hard work depending on the block chain and how much you deposit getting it through in 24hr sometimes, and Id rather have teeth pulled than attempt to "cash" out. (Took me a total of 2 months to get a cheque in the mail and have the cash in my bank account... Bank had to send away to head office and get cheque verified because it came from an overseas bank in US currency)

Its still worth the effort if you're a full time online grinder but be prepared for a few fun obstacles that you would have never encountered before. :)

you can still play online on ACR and Ignition, i've played a little bit on both and I'll try reviewing them for you :)
first lol at anyone saying online is rigged, even though the hand example i post will fuel their belief.

so first both don't really have much tournaments on at the time I want to play, afternoon and evening, which would make sense as they are US based, if you are just 1 or 2 tabling tourneys it's probably fine though. ACR would have more regs and better players but tourneys are still pretty soft. ignition is even more soft as it is only open to US and Australian players and all tables are anonymous. which means when you enter a tourney you get an id number and you can put notes on other players but will obviously lose the notes at the end of the tournament, and no huds. (though i think you can get some hand catcher program that can get you stats on the players but will obviously only be small sample) ACR is similar to stars and party in regards to names and notes and huds, notes you put on players you will see again if you play with them another time and tourneys are tracked on sharkscope.
also ignition does not have synchronized breaks during tournaments which is especially annoying when playing multiple tables. they still have a 5 minute break every hour but the breaks across all tournaments are not at the same time, kinda hard to go to the toilet.

I haven't tried cash games on acr as i just hear the are really reggy and full of bots. ignition though does have a lot of spewy players, funny example below :) again cash games are all anonymous and they have regular tables and zone tables. zone is just like zoom on stars. you can fast fold and you straight away start a new hand with new players, especially unique on ignition because it's all anonymous, so each hand is against 5 randoms you have no info on. but it's all pretty soft on ignition.

$1/$2 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BB: $451.38
UTG: $147.00
CO: $933.33
Hero (BTN): $534.50

SB: $157.34

SB posts SB $1.00, BB posts BB $2.00

Pre Flop: (pot: $3.00) Hero has Ace spade, King diamond

fold, CO raises to $6.00, Hero raises to $16.00, fold, fold, CO raises to $933.33 and is all-in, Hero calls $518.50 and is all-in

Flop: ($1,072.00, 2 players) 4 diamond, 3 diamond, 5 club,

Turn: ($1,072.00, 2 players) 7 club,

River: ($1,072.00, 2 players) 9 heart,

CO shows 4 spade, 2 club, (One Pair, Fours)
Hero shows Ace spade, King diamond, (High Card, Ace)
CO wins $1,069.00
Rake paid $3.00

you find people stacking off 250bb with 42o

poker tracker and holdem mananger can auto track hands on acr but it doesn't track tournament results, though you can just go to sharkscope to see tourney results on acr.
on ignition hands are not automatically tracked and it's all really confusing to get them imported into a tracker. first you need to download the hand history file, and then get the file converted into a format poker tracker or holdem manager accepts and then import it into the tracker. and this will get you tourney results on the tracker as well

What's the go with withdrawing on Ignition? Withdrawal via bank wire transfer - minimum is $1500? Da fok is that all about? Seems a bit high, does it not?

So you can play on ACR but can't cash out within months and then have to pay $ conversion fees when you get a cheque.

Seems pointless for lower stakes recreational players.
