Recently I had my 21st, and about 3am, the neighbour from across the street, a cop (and a bad, bitchy one at that), had finished her shift, and came across to let us know the time and turn the music down... I was reminded that she took my details, or the ones I could recall at that hour... I do remember her asking my birthdate and finding that funny...
Will this mean I have a record of some sort?

Nah your name just goes in 'the book'. Nothing to worry about, you need to actually get convicted of a crime to get a criminal record.

I had to go to court for indecent exposure once... and I asked if I could get away without a conviction... sure enough no-conviction! -> no criminal record.

Ive found that cops are generally decent people... they take your name down in situations where you are drunk and disorderly or if your driving around with drunk people in the car (designated driver) etc. so if a crime is actually committed they can question you about your activities.

I remember my mate having to go in to the cop-shop for uprooting a small tree on the side of the road... he said that they opened up a file about him and they had about 10 things come up... like all the times his name had been in 'the book'... pretty funny.

not this one...
my bday was one friday, the next was my bro's 18th...
we'd warned the street, and at the bro's party, we knew to be a little quiet earlier, due the the past warning from her...
We had gate crasher @ the 18th, the left and decided to ditch a bottle at her, the cops, house, it smashed on the roof...
We didn't know this had happened... But within 5 minutes she was banging down our front door, @ 12.30, my dad was sleeping, and didn't get to the door, so she used the side gate (which she used to crash my party, and thats where we all were) and she abused the sh|t out of my mum, and called my, just 18 yo bro irresponible.. she yelled, screamed and swore, she called the cops, they said it was nothing to worry about...
the next day she revisited, screamed etc, then proceed to climb onto her roof and expect the damage, then she visited all the neighbours...
Ma + Pa have been here 27 years, so all the neighbours knew it wasn't us...
SINCE THEN...
She booked one neighbour for bad driving, he was yelling at the kids and swerved, another got in trouble for parking on the wrong side of the road for 5 seconds... and she almost ran me over taking a corner too wide...

So i know she hates us, so I dunno if she could've used my details against me...

hopefully not, thanks for the advice etc :)

One time I was walking home from the train station the morning after a party, and some pig took my details for 'looking suspicious', the apparent reasons being my hooded jacket and backpack.

I'm a true renegade.

Hah! You're a Port supporter, don't you think that's more the reason why you looked suspicious? ;)

Give her something to have a decent whinge about!!!

Obviously a fair amount of authority and responsibility has been placed upon this individual and she/it has absolutely no idea how to handle it.

People like her build the bad reputation that a lot of people believe cops have.......

I find theres no in between with them, they're pricks or their genuine and helpful people................

Tell her to go catch someone whos doing something thats worth getting fired up about.........

Maybe she was one of the Female Police Officers on duty in the Chris McDermott Saga from a few years ago!!!!!

Not sure in S. A., but in Victoria, the police heirarchy take a very dim view of one of their officers abusing their power for personal reasons.

At this stage, it's probably not worth pursuing, lest she becomes even angrier. However, if she persists, write down all of the incidents, including dates, times etc. This could become even uglier, so you may need to protect yourself.

An alternative might be to see her personally and apologise for what happened and tell her you hope it doesn't sour your relationship.

Another alternative would be to ignore her.

What music were you playing? Was it the album "Synchronicity"?

... if so, then I'm afraid you already had a Police record to start with.

GROAN...

My alternative would be to do a shi.t on her doorstep, light it on fire and then knock on her door and run off
