Now that Essendon have officially been given their marching orders from the 2013 finals series, it looks increasingly likely that we'll play Port at the MCG in our first final.

The 4.7% behind Richmond will be hard to make up to get to 5th, so win/lose/draw to North Melbourne, we will finish 6th.
Port Adelaide cannot move from 7th place.

This will lead to a semi-final versus the loser of 2 vs. 3 (Geelong/Hawthorn vs Freo in Melbourne)
This will probably be Fremantle at Subiaco.

Win this and it could be another trip to Sydney for a preliminary final.

It's a damn tough task, how far do you think we will go?

Are you expecting Sydney to beat Hawthorn?

Nope, just tossing up hypotheticals. I picked them in the ladder predictor based purely on home ground advantage.

You can exchange Hawthorn or Geelong as possible preliminary final opponents though!

You do realise for a situation like this Eddie has no power. Would be farcical to refuse Fremantle home ground advantage.

Sunday semi-final would be most likely.

We won't play on Sunday - the AFL will want the first PF to be on the Friday (after Hawthorn copped the short straw last year) so we won't play off five days if we win - Freo won't either.

While you're more than likely correct, it's the WAFC that caused this farce in the first place with their incompetence. Would love to see Freo (who are in all likelihood, victors in that semi-final) to be punished with a five day break. Maybe then the WAFC will get their arses into gear.

Well that seems a bit unfair having Minimal Time to Recover 2 weeks in a Row?

3 weeks. Ideally Sydney knock them off in the QF so the AFL look at maximising the advantage for the highest placed finisher, Geelong.

EDIT: I'm ******ed. Friday to Friday is 7 days. Two weeks.

Hard to say, players will either get super fired up and play the game of their lives or just give up early and sook.

I think Essendon have a good chance
Really? I am of the opposite view. The players would find it very hard to get up for this game knowing that their hard work of the past 8 months has been flushed down the toilet. I think Richmond will end up winning by 10+ goals.
