What's everyones opinion on him thus far and the type of player he'll become? he seems to go relatively unmentioned on here even before the shoulder, rarely gets talked up as much as some of our other youngsters yet has shown just as much. What do we think 2008 holds for dean?

the boy will be a 200 game player - i have no doubt on that.

see him as a defensive midfielder, who still can gather his own possesions and hurt the other way. he hasn't made a position clearly his yet - but he is more than suitable for a spot in the middle, wing or even forward and back flanks.

He is a future premiership player for us, that's all I care about :thumbsu:

28 possies, 3 goals and 3 Brownlow votes in his first game - he's a tough midfielder with go-go gadget arms and footy smarts. He has been forgotten to a degree because he is one of our best youngsters.

I agree, he gets left out of a lot of talk about our midfield, but imagine Foly, Cogs, Polo and Simmo starting in the centre. Pretty good unit IMHO.

as good as his first game was against the bombers - i think its best to forget that performance - otherwise you have sad situations where you are holding a player on high regards for something that happened a long time ago (i.eschulz kicking 6 on mal michael)

in saying that - polo will be a good player, i have no doubt.

Best to forget some of his early performances this year as well. The shoulder injury is a concern for somone so young and it needs to be handled with strict precaution by the medical staff. Polo, being a rare bang and crash player down at Tigerland the opposition cashed in on his (and Coughlan's) absence this season, was a reliable tackler as well.

Pity the medical staff don't spend more time working on keeping our best players on the park rather than the duds.

Going to be a great player for our club. More of a run with player who's arms are so long he can scratch his ankles without bending over.

long range out of left field tip. If nothing untoward happens, will be vying for a brownlow one day. The kid is a champ about to happen. ;)

1st set Simmo Cogs Foley Tuck

2nd set Patto Hasleby Johnson Polo

Pinch hitters Gus Cotchin Deledio Tambling

I like the look of our onballers

the thing i like most about him is his footy smarts has excellant use of the ball

Has a good footy brain and quick hands but his kicking is definately not good. No penetration and very hit and miss. Needs alot of improving. Also think he's not that quick, unable to burst and run the lines. Still have some doubts whether he will be a top liner. Hope he comes on.

GO TIGES!!!

Got these guys already have we? Polo will be a HBF in the mould of John Blakey, if he can improve his kicking to match Blakey's and put on some muscle. Deledio and Tambling will develop into a lot more than pinch-hitting midfielders. Hope so for Tambo's sake after the show buddy just put on....
