I wonder how Paul Chapman feels now.
He was the sub for the start of the game. He wouldn't like that, since when Geelong did it, he walked out on the club, and went to the media to air our dirty laundry in public.
Also, he is now playing for a rabble of a team, who aren't winning, and under a coach who wasn't the one he crossed to Essendon to play under.
I seem to remember that he has missed games through injury (a hamstring perhaps) and has not been the goalkicking machine he once was (he kicked one late goal against us on Saturday night).
Finally, he is in the second year of a two-year contract. But he will want to re-sign, for at least two years, since he never wants to retire, and will filth up if he only gets one year instead.
So, he is playing for a losing team, under a coach who isn't the one he wanted to play for, at a club with a terrible culture and constantly in the news for all the wrong reasons, with a sore body and starting as a sub.
Was it worth it Chappy? Was it worth walking out on the club which made you a star, all because you would have to only get games at Geelong based on form (which, according to you, he never plays a bad game, so I don't see what he was worried about)? A club which had a great culture, which had brought you much success, and where you had friends and teammates who gave a damn.
It seems like both Bomber and Chappy don't feel estatic about having been at Essendon over the last couple of years. Ablett isn't doing too great either, with his injury, his standing in the game questioned, his captaincy questioned, and playing for the biggest underachievers in the AFL. Too bad they felt to leave for their selfish ends, and it has blown up in their faces. But then, karma is a bitch, ain't it.
