AFL Club
West Coast
will add to it later but fire away. Early ones for me;

+ Jack Darling's last two weeks have been exquisite. Bounced back from a horror end to last year and looks every part the king.
+ Priddis reads it like a book in close. A few dreadful kicks over the shoulder but the way he hits targets during a tackle or in traffic is unbelievable.
+ Jetta can strike it
+ Jackson Nelson victim counter rises to three
+ Nic's mark...phwoaaa
+ EMac is a genuine gun defender and grabbed a goal, onya pal

- JK looks out of sorts, too early to fret and glad he got his goal but worth monitoring
- Skills all over the place, suspect
- Ross Lyon is a blight on this great sport
- Sandi's injury, be a shame for this to be a career changer.

Edit: oh **** huge positive, Simmo just kicked a footy into the crowd instead of handing it in, a true icon of the game.

Negative - Our inside 50s were atrocious . i topped myself when lecras sent the ball inside 50 in the last quarter directly to a freo player. He had a mare.

I am not sure what to think of us. Our first 3 games have been lackluster and below par. Are we contending or pretending?

I havent felt this hollow after a win in a long time...

Positives:
* We won
* Darling is improving (BOG for me)
* Jetta stepped it up several times when needed
* Pridda played a decent 200th

Negatives:
* Skills, skills, skills, skills, skills. We looked like a bottom four team at times. Team needs some sprinkler work
* Goalkicking. Absolutely f*cking shocking and single-handedly kept Freo in it.
* Duggan went missing for the third time in 3 games. Needs to find form in the WAFL. Sorry son
* Redden and Priddis in the same team doesnt look good so far. If one is getting the ball then the other is doing nothing
* Mental fragility. Its obvious that West Coast dont like to be challenged in tight games. When we lose momentum, we lose it big time

Positives: we won- lots of times in the last few years we've lost that derby, thought we were going to kick ourselves out of the match in the 2nd and last.

Better outing than last week. Not hard, but we needed to bounce back, and I thought bar several patches we were a lot better.

Kept freo under 60 points, we've been leaking goals this year, so nice to only concede 8 this week.

Darling was my biggest positive, actually. Was immense early, when we needed a leader. Loved his marking, almost back to his 2012 form.

Negative:

Freo's game style, really tried to make the game ugly.

Our kicking for goal, Kennedy, gaff and lecras the main suspects, which i put down to an off night as they are usually so good.

Boy do we miss wellingham. Can't wait till he is back.

Thank goodness we won. I would have hated to have lost after the Pavlich goal, or mayne setting up a ball from the pie stands in the last.

Loved the last couple of minutes, too. Nice to get those quick goals and bury them!

+ Darling can't be faulted this season. Looks sharp on the lead
+ Jetta demonstrating the attributes that will enhance our best 22
+ Shuey and Graff ground out that last quarter
+ Lycett. Arguably his best game for the club
+ No injuries

- McGovern has looked seriously average this season. Seemingly not backing himself to mark and disposal is inconsistent
- Yeo doesn't get enough footy
- McKenzie and Schofield beaten too often 1vs1 for my liking
- Huge Duggan fan, but currently not contributing. I'd still back him in for development purposes

Yeo had 21 touches and 8 tackles and played on Fyfe most of the time. yes fyfe won plently of the footy but he impact was no where near his best.

Lycett had a great allround game... Took some solid marks in the storm conditions

Jetta's disposal use was terrific. Looked like a savvy veteran out there. Efficient play. Can't wait to see him find some space and break lines with his speed

Negatives

Redden was invisible for most of the night

JK was off

Goal kicking

Positives
Darling was in the game all day
Lycett rucked well, played forward well and played with good aggression
Fremantle languishing at the bottom of the ladder with Carlton

Negatives
Suban's knee to Sheppard
Our goal kicking (or lack of it)
Those shot on goal graphics that were clearly incorrect
That missed out of bounds

Thought that was a better win than most think. We beat Freo (although depleted) at their own game in the wet and it should've been by more if not for some sloppy inside 50s and shooting. We're still well down on last year's form but I thought we did well to wrestle the momentum away from Freo when they had it.

Mentally fragile???
They had the momentum in the last with some bs umpiring and skills, but we stood up big time and then crushed them late.

They never got away from us tonight by more than 2 goals (I think).

I thought our mental game was very sound tonight.

Unless I've misinterpreted what you're saying? In which case I apologise.

Edit: actually reading most of your negatives I disagree.

Redden and Priddis works, they offer something different and it's excellent to have two elite inside ball winners, so if one is down, the other stands up.

We also didn't look bottom 4 in skills, yes it was poor at times, but the conditions weren't great, the pressure was on, and despite our skills our endeavour made up for it.

Duggan and goal kicking I agree with.

Positives
+ We won, it was ugly but we won.
+ We managed to rest back the momentum Freo had in the last, we haven't been able to do that in the past.
+ Field kicking by Masten and Jetta was outstanding.
+ NN, Gaff, Shuey, Pridda doing what they do best.
+ Lycett showed again he is a big game player.
+ Still have massive room for improvement
+ Freo are 0-3 (feels ****ing good)

Negatives
- Mid still not sharing the load when it comes to the contested ball. We really need Redden to get in there and help out Priddis.
- Still getting out worked on the rebound. Still look mentally weak in the defensive game.
- Lecca was shit again, something is not right with him this year.
- Schofield was shit again, alway behind his man, getting out marked, just been generally shit.
- Sandi, that was shit to watch, hope he's ok.
- Shit Freo campaigners being shit Freo campaigners eg
Luke Shuey's sister should have ducked.
