+ Nic Nat is really good. Will be nice once he has a midfield to tap to instead of having to do it all himself.
+ The equation is so simple when our forwards can mark everything. Get it in there.
+ Shit day for it but Hurn’s legacy is more than today. Great player, great man, well done.

- Waste of a winnable game. Was there for the taking. We worked really hard to stay involved when the Giants had us on the ropes in the third, we fired the shot to get it back and winnable, but then let it slip off some really easy work at the coal face.
- Mids need to lift. Just not good enough outside of bursts that are almost worse, because they show that the talent should be good enough.
- Hurn was unbelievably rusty and Ryan was invisible. Happy they’re back but if they’re not ready they’re not ready - hindsight suggests they weren’t.
- People genuinely got paid to turn in that commentary performance. Watching football should not be a chore because of the presentation.

Need to tick the boxes until we get healthy - failed to tick the box today. Will make it hard. There’s time left but we’re seriously wasting wiggle room. Disappointing.

Waterman needs a spell. Should've kept Jones in for him.

Brander was off his rocker all game.

Hurn and the kickouts..... Please ban him from taking them when Witherden's back.

Can't wait for Yeo to be back in next week so we have someone in the midfield who actually tackles.

- We were not ever really on. At no stage did we control the play. It was obvious that we would not win from the start (unless we did one of our 10 minute bursts).

- Fitness. We seemed out on our feet in the last quarter, more so than GWS.

- Commentary

+ Home game next week

+ We were in the game for a long time despite never playing well.

Dom Sheed is still a terrible CB player. Good in space only. Yeo and Shuey can’t come back soon enough.

Our mids got totally destroy and our defenders this year has been very poor.

forward line is way too tall. First half giant had 15 inside forward 50 tackles and we had 1.

miss tackles. Must be the only team that can’t tackle and can’t handball under pressure. Other teams handball and then they’re out while we handball to a guy who is stationary. Handball to the players feet’s.

No positives for me.

MARKS 120 to 71
TACKLES 77 to 46

Those two statistics say it all really.

GWS ran to space and worked for each other all day and we didn’t which lead to open, easy marks over and over and over.

Tackle count is putrid. They pack hunted the ball and had huge numbers to the contest whilst our boys stood around and watched.

That’s not a skills based problem or personnel. That’s go to do with EFFORT.

So disappointed. 😔

we lost a game which we expected to win. disappointing. Simmo is feeling the heat nowadays lol. He is showing more emotions in the box these days which is so unlike him. believe me that's not by choice. He knows he is under the pump. That is a man who knows performance review is just around a corner. finish outside top 4 and he is in trouble, to be honest, could also get the boot considering how much we have invested to go after another flag with this list.

we are so unpredictable it is just frustrating to watch as a fan. Now we have to win at SCG to equalize this loss. until then.

Much like the dogs game, a missed opportunity.

We simply dont know how to get over the line in close ones lately.

Im over this putrid, soft underbelly midfield. Im not sure if its coaching or the cattle.

Why the **** do we always go so ****ing tall. Playing waterman again was another mistake for balance.

Lost this at the selection table.

Sheed needs to be way more disciplined, hes a pretender tough guy.

+ NicNat in patches
+ Tall forwards look dangerous when we kick to their advantage
+ Petol has improved

- Pathetic last 15.
- Whoever is setting up our centre clearances needs an honest performance review.
- Ground balls.

+ Petch played well today.
+ Naitanui up and about at times.
+ Glimpses of quality from BBW. Need to persevere with him.

- The selection table. Pick a balanced side and not your ‘best’ players.
- Hurn and Ryan very poor. Maybe could have been eased back through the WAFL given there were guys playing well that could have stayed in for both?
- Brander was very poor for the most part.
- Tackling and pressure non-existent. I don’t think we tried hard enough today.
- Gaff does about 3 touches worth of damage with his total number of disposals. Still doesn’t have a right foot, bit embarrassing.
- Cripps continues to do enough to avoid being dropped. So inconsistent.

Positives
Hurn
Kennedy
Williams

Negatives
Nic Nat- Dominates the hitouts but straight to the opposition, let his man run off him twice for goals.
Sheed, Kelly, Gaff-Game on the line and they were woeful
Brander, Ryan, Ah Chee, Waterman, Nelson - Absolute passengers.
Too many players jogging, No Run at all, Just too Slow

+ves
Forward line.
Bailey Williams.
Another game closer to Yeo returning.
-ves
Liam Ryan was he even fit? Hurn fumbly slow poor decision making.
Another lost in the midfield game. Another lost at the contest game. ****ing deja vu.
Another hung in there somehow and blew it again game.

The lack of urgency in our ball movement, fragility of our defense at times and inability to stick tackles. Case in point was the second last center bounce 10 points down with 5 mins left, Mumford wins the tap but puts it to Gaff sitting at the back of the square. Runs backwards to space and chips wide instead of charging forward to space.

+ backline did pretty well considering we had almost zero control over the game from the get-go.

- every ground ball, we can't pick up a ball to save our lives
- tackling pathetic: back to our extended arms and pray to catch them routine
- shocking kick and hope in a pack all game - it didn't work in the first half, change it up: oh wait, MC too tall again.. forget that.
- commentary as awful as ever, but that's to be expected
- terrible fitness, we ran out of puff at the end of the 3rd and you could see it
- pressure non-existent: skeletons still very much in our closet

Should have kept our previous week's team on: they're gutsier despite the lack of big names.
