37. Iles: A mixed bag. If he is going to be in our best 22 and release johnson/lonie/h.shaw I'd rather O'Brien do it. Still at least he's a straight-ahead player.

Have to disagree, Iles and O'Brien wouldnt be competing for the same spot they are different players, O'Brien plays taller and is clumbsy at ground level but is better in the air than Iles. Iles is clean at ground level and has poise when using the ball but wont contest at marking contests he would be crumbing.I think Harry will play much taller than most realise.

3. Lonie: I will not pass judgement on him until the season proper. I still feel he may suprise many. A nothing performance though, I don't know why people are calling his game soft just because he didn't bust heads.
FFS haven't we had about 6 "seasons proper" to pass judgement on Ryan?? He has consistently shown he has a couple of nice attributes but invariably when the ball is there to be contested he just hangs back and hopes someone else will get it for him. If that someone else happens to be an oppo player, too bad. It's not about "crashing heads" it's about putting yourself on the line and getting the bl**dy football when it's your turn. What sort of example did he set on Friday for the teamful of kids around him? Contrast that with a Scott Burns leading by example!

One more performance like Friday's in the real season and Ryan should never play for Collingwood again. His positives just don't outweigh his liabilities.

32. Cloke: Worked very hard and looked bigger and more mobile. The best thing was his aggresiveness. Perhaps the chopping of his brothers has let him come out of his shell. Saw him barking out orders to some teammates which is a good sign to a player who can sometimes be passive.
Yeh, I agree, he may not of got much of the ball but when he did, he looked good with it. and that supergoal  :thumbsu:
