I couldn't make it tonight!!!

Anyone who went is there anything positive from tonights game?

Did we play better than last week or were carltone 7 goals or worse than Geelong?

Couglan was top notch. Hard as hell at the ball, knew how to get the thing and did some decent things with it.

Campbell was tough in the clinches and played pretty smart for the night.

Ottens had a fine game, especially in the ruck.

Pettifer was excellent early. Kicked 4 goals and was good on the sneak.

Ednie, Fiora and Hyde put in commendable efforts.

and Matthew Knights showed some of the old Tiger with some teriffic acts of courage and skill.

...as for the negatives, Richo had perhaps his worst game ever. It wasn't that he did virtually nothing...he was the Anti-King Midas. Everthing he touched turned to ****. Just a terrible, terrible effort from someone who should know a hell of a lot better. I can tell you one thing, it aint gonna do his claims for a better contract much good.

Bowden was apalling in front of goal. yes, he can get the ball but gee...he really is part of the RFC cancer...brilliant in some areas, hopeless in many important others.

This game broke my heart. On the telecast tonight Sam asked Clinton Casey why would people bother barracking for Richmond? I started to question that tonight myself.

If anything, we showed guts tonight...skill was oh so lacking but it is the hardest we've tried in many a week. But man, I'd rather lose to Geelong by a 100 points than Carlton by 1.

I'm just shattered.

A positive tonight is that the reality of Richo being traded is becoming more and more likely. His attitude is a disgrace and is a poor example of our club. Cut him loose, before the cancer is terminal!

You're right Sandeano and Diggler. Richo is effectively losing about 50 grand off his contract each week at present. And he would have done his prospects of a decent offer from the team that will get No.1 draft pick this year no good at all .... (ahem ... That's Carlton I mean).

He was a disgrace to the jumper, and an insult to all of the fans like me who love him tonight. I've never said that about a player before.

I love Richo and always will and I know he dearly loves the Tigers too...but like a marriage gone bad although love is still there, I just don't like him much in the team anymore.

This is the first time I've really given thought to he and the RFC parting ways, for the best of both parties.

That's funny ... me too, Sandeano.

But the other thing is, I still think that Tony Shaw was wrong when he mentioned the same thing about 15 months ago. Another 10% of Richo's career has been eaked away since then, and a lot of things have happened to the team that have made a premiership not so immediate.

If we WERE just a year from a flag, I would probably still argue to keep the big fella. But he is now at least 70% of the way through his entire career ...

Time to cut our losses, shore up another Top 5 draft pick, and enjoy watching what Richo can make of his chances elsewhere. Chances are, we'll only ever have to play AGAINST him 3 or 4 times, wherever he goes ...

Pavlich is looking even better ...

WE should have him anyway :(

If we were to trade Richo what would we get?
2nd Round pick??Perhaps not even that , its hard to see any clubs wanting him...Not that it matters theres no way the club would be prepared to trade him...

Well Rodan, if they aren't prepared to spill it ON thr ground, they might have to shed some OFF the ground.

We can forgive clumsiness, or inaccuracy eg. Tivvers & Bowdo - They're skilful players, and they WILL turn it around, despite doing the same thing twice in the last month.

What we shouldn't forgive is apathy, indifference and sheer lack of application. Not every player can be Michael Voss, but it is well within the grasp of every player to TRY TO BE like Michael Voss ...

concedes after watching richo tonight i like the rest on here would be left wondering why would we want to sign him up again.
i have seen richo play similar games in the past but tonites effort goes down as the worst.
the worst for the reason that the side needed him to stand up tonight and lets face it he wasnt up against a top line backman.
this is the quandry for us do we keep him to allow otto to take the 2nd best backman and be damaging or do we cut our losses and trade richo?
another senerio which may come into play is if we do trade richo and the behind the scenes work he did to convince otto to stay how would otto feel if we do trade him?

but he is not alone!
2 of our so called better skilled kickers once again let us down in front of goal.
maybe richo wont be on his pat malone come trade time.

cheers!

I think that Cameron (didnt see the game last week) played terrible. What has gotten into the guy?

I dont know about the rest of the fans but its very hard. Richmond are not the best club in the last 20 years but stick by em and we will see success in the next 20:rolleyes:

It was the same way as the roo's game .
WE LOST the game they did'nt win it
When are they going to practice goal kicking with some pressure around them instead of just having pot shot's
Anybody can have a shot at goal - more pressure needed.

Harry, I disagree ... forget 2nd Round, barring a serious or partially-serious injury from here on in, a Richo trade would demand a Top 3 pick.

As for Otto's feelings on the trade, how would Brad have felt watching the big bloke capitulate last night as he himself was busting his guts to get the ball down to him. I'm sure that Otto would get over the loss if he had a Reiwoldt, Pavlich, Jon Brown type youngster as a side-kick.

Anyway ... October's a hell of a long way off. Maybe it would be best to just watch the next 8 rounds unfold. It's not fair that Richo gets off the hook though after last night ....
