i think this bored is being too negative

Corey Jones kicked 4.1 from free kicks alone

(not saying the umpires had an outcome on the game)

But seriously we played a side who nearlly made a grand final last year

Our team showed a fair bit of heart to have a crack in the 4th

Will Thursfield Kelvin Moore more than held their own in the back 50

We have arguably 6 players who once they are fit and ready will walk in to that side and a few of the kids who most on this bored wanna see play were underdone

Lids 2nd half was sensational and i think his shown where he belongs

Schulz had another good game and as one bloke who has bagged him in the past i was thrilled with his efforts today

Simmonds was good although still not 100%

We have one or two stupid habits still. Last year we had them all over the park.

The Roos are a good team and we would have done far worse had we been the team of 07 or any of the 5 years before it.

We showed in stages that we can mix it with a team like North, granted a few free kicks ended in goals - but TW was constantly moving guys around and mixing it up - i liked it....... we will improve and we didn't give up....

The only thing North did wrong last week was lack of effort. Easy to fix in one week. We should never have been expected to beat North.

bit harsh on some of the other players like moore and thrusfield who did well in defence and deledio in the 2nd half when he was finally put in the midfield.... tambling was average and needs to start putting in consistent efforts

yep BJ, but you are being a bit to polite with Simmo. yeah yeah yeah, he is coming back from the illness and he is this and he is that. But all i can ****ing see is what i have been seeing since he has been there, slow lumbering ruckman, who is beaten more often than not in every aspect. Like a dude onces posted, he runs like a building and pretty much a building can think faster.

Apart from that i fully agree. And Lids needs to ****ing wake up, he has to turn games, if he is to be who we think he is.

Tambling is still very lazy ie. jogging to contests and just been lazy. He couldnt grab the ball cleanly either. Seemed like everytime he had it he would fumble.

Simmo was atrocious. His timing at centre bounces is ridiculous its so early so we just gave North first use at almost every bounce. As for that tap into the corridor inside their F50...sheeeesh. He will improve though. I thought we got more competitive when Patto got a longer stint in the last quarter.

good point, Patto is improving every game, did some really good things...I would be leaning toward more time for Patto in the ruck than simmo..

Never been a big fan of Schultz.

But he was the bright spark in Richmonds game last night.

Let's see how he goes next week.

We didn't come to play and North did. That was the difference. We didn't man up at all and they were just a bit harder in the middle. If we lost last week, it would have been a much closer game yesterday

Starting the season with ribbs being broken and a punctured lung, Shulz has been great in the last 2 weeks.

Was he shaken up with trade talk?

Maybe he is finally comming of age. Either way he is the big improver for mine.

another thing (somewhat related to the theme of the thread...well not really) is that judging by the comments from some posters we should have beaten north in a canter. Never really expected that we would win because they are still a very good team and are once again being underrated, worst thing possible for us was them to play poorly and get towelled last week by the Bombers.

got a bit of a free ride last week in the media after beating the fancied, but still shithouse blues, at least this is a reminder to our blokes about how far off the pace they still are...

I was worried about North too and knew it would be very tough to win.

The Burgers were my shining light for the week.

come on you guys did you actually think we were going to beat north? they finished 3rd last year we finished last and have only beaten carlton.
In saying that I did take out a couple of positives from the game:
-If this game was played last year it would of been a 100 point loss. But our boys hanged in there and brought the margin back a couple of times but our skill level definately let us down.
-I seriously don't know how you can bag tambling after a game like that. In recent years tambling hasn't had the body or the mindset to play in the middle. But in the last two weeks tambling has played there most of the game and is going in which is good to see. His skills under pressure and some of his decision making isn't too good but that will come in time. Just thought it was good that he was goin in and havin a crack.
-We can't forget that Simmo and browny have had horrific injuries. I thought simmo played well yesterday but hopefully he will keep getting better. Same with brown although he had a shocker.
-and lastly, i think we now know where to play deledio. You cannot have such a talent being wasted in the forwardline. Had a great second half.
