Post Counts

I see that some post counts have gone down since BF went down but my question is:

Does it really matter what your post count is?
I don't understand why so many people are obsessed with it.

Just a thought...

Personally, no it doesn't matter. Used to it was kind of fun, but the novelty has well and truly worn off.

Some of us use our post counts as a running joke, I know jod and Dan don't actually take their counts as seriously as people think, well that's what they tell me anyways.

To be honest, I don't think that the count is overly accurate. I know that I have been stuck on some numbers for as many as 10 or so posts. I started watching them when I was on 99, but it took me about 4 or 5 posts to reach the ton...

I know I am quoting myself, but I have actually put 4 posts on this morning on various issues, and haven't moved from 430!!! Funnily enough, last week I passed 450...

Have they all been on General Talk boards?

GT board posts, last time I learnt, weren't counted on post count totals. Maybe that's it.

But if you've been posting on AFL board its a different story!

I don't know for sure about the cricket board, but I think the general rule is something akin to the footy ones get posts counted, the non-footy ones don't.

Only the AFL board post count these days...right? I think it was done due to the nature of some post. They were just useless meaningless post that just increased the persons tally.

I have a question to ask..were Jod and Dan big polluters on the GB? Because to get that kind of post count you would have to be on here 24/7 and replying to about every single thread.

It would have been a nightmare with Dan and his I am never wrong cause I rely on stats so I am never wrong. I find it funny though that since it was taken away (post count for other boards except AFL) we don't see Dan at all.

Just goes to show the mentality of this geek.

Frosty I'll have to let one of the other mods answer the question of which board counts ... I don't know the exact workings of it. Perhaps query it on the Suggs board for more info!
