Adelaide's list is at the stage where they should be pushing for top 4. Ours is not.

The great thing is that other than Pendlebury it was the kids that did okay today. Yes our disposal was woeful but their pressure was immense.

Langdon, Broomhead, Seedsman, Oxley were all pretty good overall. This team has a bright future but we need to be reasonable with our expectations at the moment.

That passage of play where Adelaide hit roughly 20 odd targets on the trot late in the match painted a pretty good picture of the match. They ran harder for longer and to better spots.

I'd be interested to see their set shot accuracy at a guess it would be sub 40% which is the only reason the margin wasnt 10 goals plus.

I also wouldn't want to be a Crows player right about now because I bet Walsh is dishing out another spray!

Crows took their foot completely off the pedal at the end but at least we managed to do something so there's that I guess.

Nothing positive to take from this game really at all though apart from what we already know - our running ability, disposal and structures are all poor and don't stand up to any sort of pressure and we can't and probably never will be able to sustain Buckley's desired game style built around manic pressure and turnovers over the longer term because going all in on those aspects sacrifices any sort of attacking flair we might otherwise bring to the table (and teams with good ball users especially by foot pick through our defensive press like it's not even there).

The defence will cop a hiding in many reviews but I felt sorry for them with the number of times the Crows brought the ball in under no pressure whatsoever and no obvious targets to kick the ball to up the ground when we did manage to deny them in D50 for most of the night, more often than not it just came straight back in after the first contest.

Gee to you reckon if we had of kick straight there might have been more of a game as well? 7 set shot from 30 all misses.

We simply couldnt match their skills today. Clearly the superior side.

Some positives though: Swan looks as good as he has for a while, Crisp shouldn't miss many games (talented boy) and I thought frost was alright as well. Broomy should also be a more permanent fixture.

Onward and upward

Scoreboard flattered us

We seriously need to stop making excuses. Buckley built this list. Its his 4th year and its decidedly average. The gameplan is worse. Movement out of the backline is extremely poor. Both foot and hand skills are disgraceful.

Fasolo & Varcoe

I don't even know what to say. They are just the biggest pretenders ever.

We are going to have bad games, we get that. But our game style, tactics and game plan are still non existent - I don't see one thing that is constant from week to week that looks like it's a positive thing and that we are improving on or focusing on. It's not obvious what we are meant to be trying to do of achieve.

Thread has potential

I'll start. Fasolo is shit. Hope he doesn't play next week, he'll play alright against St kilda

crows will be top 4. Brisbane will be bottom 4.
Our skills were terrible. No run off half back
Seedsman and Langdon,owed ok
Fasolo, always gets kicks at end of the game when the pressure is off. I don't think we can carry him any longer
Blair did his job with 3 goals.
Not a lot to be excited about I am afraid.
Amazing what a new coach has done for Adelaide. Makes me think what if.........

Went pretty much exactly according to script, a team looking to contend comfortably outclassed a team that is still building.

This. Was only listening on radio, but sounded like it happened just as expected. We'll learn from this hopefully. Sounded like Seedsman played well once he came on, and that White was OK.

Sounds like Frost was majorly let down by a lack of team pressure.

Good move by Buckley, put swan forward in the last quarter. I thought that was a good move.
Our skills let us down tonight. We just can't hit a target, regardless whether the ball carrier is under pressure or not. We were sloppy.

The effort was there though.

P.S Can someone please tell Elliot not attempt mark of the year every week. He'd be a more valuable player crumming the ball and kicking 2-3 a week like Eddie Bets.

Seedsman was good...at least he takes the game on.
Most people will disagree but i thought White provided a decent option.

That's about it.

A couple of good penetrating kicks instead of trying to take the "safe" option (or no option at all). Need some more of that as that is exactly the sort of thing that puts pressure on the opposition (and by extension eases pressure on our boys) and the ensuing quick ball movement at least gives the forwards a chance - as long as the midfielders / half forwards don't just sit on the ball when they get it that is (which often happens).

They summed it up perfectly during the doggies game today - they tried to be adventurous with taking the first / "risky" option as much as possible, it didn't always come off and sometimes looked scrappy / led to opposition goals, but that's the way you want to play in today's game because playing it safe and being indecisive gets you nowhere.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained - that pretty much sums up our game plan at the moment because we're almost wholly reliant on the opposition making mistakes when they have the ball with the pressure we try to bring, rather than trying to make the play ourselves (which is a mistake).

Throw sidebottom greenwood Reid Witts into the side today we are more competitive. Not saying we will but we needed some old strafed heads. How many times did we kick out on the full out of the backline.

We actually kicked straightish. 9-4 and 4 posters. 1 rushed.

Adelaide's seemingly inaccurate tally of 12.15 is somewhat tarred by rushed behinds and from shots from outside 50 metres. From shots within the 50 metre arc, the Crows have kicked 11.7.
